Just found this forum and decided to see if I can get some advice on a problem I'm going through.
I have been dating this girl for the past 6 years and a half. We were suppose to get married in a few months. We were living in sin. So I just found out she is pregnant, and she also confessed that she is not sure who the father is. She said it was a mistake and she is really sorry but I don't know how to handle this. I know we did things wrong in our relationship and this is probably the outcome of that. But I'm really confused, heartbroken, and don't know what to do. Any advice would be much appreciated.
So has she been having a relationship with another man? Or more than one man?
Yes you are right that your situation does lead to such things happening and babies born out of wedlock.
Sadly there are always consequenses to everything we do.
I would definately cancel the wedding and stop living together. Are either of you Christians?
OF course you will need to be there for the child if he/she is yours(you can have a dna test) but I would think very carefully about marrying a lady who cant be faithful. If the baby isnt yours then of course he or she will be the responsibility of the father.
Most importantly seek your Heavenly Dad and get to know Him. He is the best, and find a good friendly church to go to.
Well from what I know it was a one night stand, and it's just with one other guy. According to her he put something in her drink. But I asked if she knew what she was doing and she said yes. We don't live together I'm 22 she is 21 we are both Christian even though we have not been living like if we were. She is going to take a DNA test but that's until the baby is born.
If you are in a serious relationship what was she doing going out drinking with this guy?
You are both still very young. As I said before you need to seek God and get right with him. She does as well as you both sound as if you aren't following Him or His teachings at all.
I would keep things on a very 'friends only' basis form now on, and wait to see if the child is yours. If he isn't then my advise is to end the relationship and concentrate on God first before you even think of getting into another relationship. Grow up spiritually and emotionally first. If he is yours(which I doubt as presumablyyou use contraception which she didn't with this other guy) then you will need to be a good dad and contribute towards the child's needs, but don't jump into marriage is my advise until you have had time to find good church, pray and get some godly male help and advise.
The baby is not relevant to your relationship with this woman.
Her cheating IS Supremely relevant.
Thanks for the advice. I found a local church to attend too and I felt God speaking to me through the pastor. I am going to take some counseling and so is my ex. Well we are not really speaking much she just sends me bible versus and says she is also starting over with Jesus and hopes we can work things out. I'm still torn on the inside but now I see light at the end of the tunnel. And it's Jesus Christ. I'm not sure what decision I will make but I know God will show me the right path. Thanks again
Josh thats brilliant. It sounds as if you are both going Gods way and no matter if you end up with her or not, you will be in His will, and that is the best place to be.
God Bless you both.
