It has been very frustrating for me when I use HD TV with the usual antennae system since I cannot afford cable and have to put up with the terrible interference on my TV reception when the wind picks up causing me to lose both audio and visual reception up to minutes at a time. This becomes extremely annoying when important weather or other life saving information is being broadcast and you can't receive it.
Well there is good news for people who experience this problem and have a computer. I have found out that our local TV station, WTVR.6 in Richmond, Virginia live streams its local news and weather and when I click on the following link I get complete audio and visual reception regardless of wind speed:

This new and improved service by our local station will actually help save lives during an emergency situation. I recently e-mailed their manager and thanked him personally for providing this service for his viewers. I have also found out that CBS Evening News will live stream its program later on in the evening so if you have interference problems go to CBS Evening News and click all episodes after 10:00 PM and you can pick up the 6:30 PM broadcast.
It is time for all TV stations to do this as a public service in times of weather or other emergency situations. I cannot thank WTVR enough for doing this and now I am a firm customer for life.
