that the age difference between our older kids and our youngest is too great. :( I didn't plan it this way. We started the adoption process when my youngest at the time was newly four, but we didn't get our baby girl for over a year...and 5.5 years between them seems like a vast cavern now.
She will have SO much time alone with my dh and I..and I feel badly for her about that. My three olders are pretty close, share tons of memories and I hurt for my little one who will not have that same experience. I keep telling myself it was God's timing and everything will work out ok, but some days, like today...my heart just feels sad over it all.
Just needed to vent it somewhere, I guess. Thanks for listening.
Every kid has a different experience in life. Just train them up for heaven. God knew your daughter would live in this time, in this situation, in this place. His plan is perfect. Just do your best, and God will work in their life.
Each child in the family has different advantages and disadvantages according to where they are in the family.
My youngest is 7 years younger than the eldest (not ss much as yours are apart, but a fair gap), and the middle one is 2 years younger than the eldest and 5 years older than the 'baby'. The older two have seemed closer in many ways, but now I would say that the 2 girls are getting closer even though they are 5 years apart. As they get older the age gaps matters less and less, and once they are the ages of mine(35,33 28) it doesn't seem much at all.
I am sure she loves having 3 older siblings, and a lot of attention from her mum and dad, and remember so many children have no siblings at all, so she has many blessings. Don't feel bad, she has a loving family, and that's what matters.
Ah, thanks to you both! I appreciate your comforting and encouraging words so much!
Just gonna keep pluggin along and make the most of what the Lord has blessed us with!
My mom had four of us in five years. None of us are close now and we weren't for most of our growing up years.
My six children span an 11 year gap. The oldest son and oldest daughter are 5.5 years apart and very close. In between them is a son who has been in and out of jail for passing bad checks and other things!
My oldest son's two daughters are four years apart and adore each other.
Every child is different -- as I'm sure you know. Your youngest will have plenty of friends and plenty of memories of her own.
