I hope I can make my self understood ?
Why does this forum allow people to post such long post ?
To copy and answer is one thing ! But to copy and keep adding on to the post ?
Who wants to see the same thing post after post after post ? ??? ::frown::
Yeah - I find that annoying as well. I usually just scroll to the bottom to read the comments. And then have to guess what point in that long quote they are commenting on ....
Personally I don't understand why this forum allows people to disagree with me. Very frustrating.
Grams, I employ my built in ignore function to any post I don't feel like reading, which by the way is most of them.
I find it very annoying too, especially when reading on a small screen. I generally assume that those who do that have nothing interesting to say and skip over that post. I've also edited those posts, but I have to be very bored, with lots of time on my hands, so it doesn't happen often.

Its easier to hit quote and just start typing a reply than editing the quote
Keeps the conversation in context
Avoids confusion as to who and what is being spoken to

Not really. In long diatribes you have to dig to find out which point was being addressed. Usually it is the last one but in a large minority of the cases it is buried elsewhere.

I agree, and when it makes my head spin, I will do my best to highlight the part/ parts I wish to address.
However, for others, perhaps they feel it

and
its not that hard to scroll to the bottom of the posts, read the last portion that is quoted and read the next reply. Its *easier* not to have to...but, its not too terribly difficult.
I especially love the different size and color fonts in those long posts. ::frown::
I just don't read them any more.
The reason I am here is to learn and try to help others who are even worse off then I am . Because I was there for 50 years.
So why can these people PLEASE ! Help the young in Christ to be able to learn ? Adding on and on is just making it hard for the people who do not understand !
So Please give them and me a break and be help full !

Not everyone posts for the same reason. Not everyone struggles the same way you do.
Its not that hard to follow along. Just skip down to the end of the long post and read the most recent comment.
ETA: Its not wrong to just skip them altogether either...Im just not sure a thread complaining about them or the posters that make them was necessary...

We all need a place to vent our frustrations . . .
I sometimes feel a sense of narcissism and an intent to teach us their beliefs.

I think a thread complaining about long posts should be started on a monthly basis. And complaints of large multi colored fonts maybe weekly.
