: My Testimony
: Giulia Mon Sep 21, 2015 - 00:38:43
I had a conversion experience in 1989 where water flowed from my belly and I was soaked in heavenly glory, I was 25 and my husband had been missing for two years (he was never found and the coroner ruled it a homicide with circumstances of foul play in 2010).  I went to bible college for nearly three years because I wanted to understand all I had believed and the subject of faith had become a strong interest in my life. My faith had replaced a life of drug addiction and crime and I had a range of behaviours that had to be addressed and changed, relationships to be healed and new routines to be made. My prayer life lacked depth and I fell. I had twelve years of darkness (from 1992 to 2004) where I got back into drugs and I was convinced God didn't want to talk to me again and that I had sinned willfully and there was no longer a sacrifice for my sins (Hebrews) but God gave me mercy through His grace and He started to communicate with me once again.   Recently I have taken up spiritual direction where I had to pray around a scripture for an hour each day and write about it and in the evening do an examine. This has deepened my relationship with God and is the best thing I have ever done, apart for the bible study I did for the three years after my conversion. Praying has placed me in a position where I am able to examine myself more objectively in terms of my motivations and intentions, it has also moved God to pour new oil into me. I have been clean for nearly 11 and a half years The Christian walk is a constant struggle because the self is deceitful and the devil and world cunning. Nice to meet you.
