: Interracial Dating
: anonymous25 Mon Dec 07, 2015 - 01:01:29
I know this is probably a taboo topic but I was just interested in some feedback. So I hear that they are some people believe that dating other races is against the Bible. I just want to see what you guys think. I know that there are a lot of people that don't agree with it But I know that the Bible says not to be unequally yoked. Not to be with unbelievers. And I also think that Moses's wife was a different race. I haven't read the whole story personally just from hearsay. I was even at church one day when a guest speaker visited and they talked about how interracial dating was against what God wants us to do along with homosexuality.

There is not one scripture that can be used to prove that it is against the word of God. Mixing and marrying an unbeliever, comparing to marrying a believer of a different race are totally two different discussions. One is forbidden by God, and the other is not. Jesus' bride are from every nation under heaven, not from a single nation of people. There are righteous and beautiful people from every nation. God did not tell us that we had to marry a blonde hair, blue eye person; or, a dark hair, brown eyes person. God did not tell us that we cannot marry a dark skin, or light skin person, that man's preference, not God's. This being said, that's not to say that we should not consider the differences between the races of men, for we should indeed, and if we do, and believe it will be fine, then there is not scriptures that can be used to say that one cannot. Now, I am only dealing with the question of marrying in other races, not many other questions that one may have~like, should one marry outside of their parents approval, etc. Fifty years old parents, are much wiser than a late teenagers who are more control by lust, more than doing the will of God.  Beside, marriage is a fifty year commitment, not something like the new car deal where you can take it for a week and try it out, to see if you may like it or not, and if not, just bring back! I'll stop, and save this for my grandchildren, who are at that stage of their life.

Good grief, how very sad.  ::frustrated::
Being unequally yoked is about a believer marrying a non believer, nothing at all to do with race.

Its racism pure and simple.  ::frown::

Galatians 3v 28
There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus

Yes there are.  And it comes from a misunderstanding of the Mosaic covenant, how it worked and how that impacts us today in the New Covenant.

Ancient Israel was prohibited from marrying outside the faith and that meant marrying outside actual Israel. That is because to become a follower of the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob REQUIRED the person to become an Israelite.

Race was not really the issue; faith in GOD and national identity were.

But now in the New Covenant, national identity is not tied up with Faith in the God of the bible.

It is a misuse of scripture in this context.  I have no problem with interracial dating.

If you use this verse as a prooftext for interracial marriage, by logical conclusion you must also approve of homosexual marriage.

Numbers 12. God was mad at Miriam because she didn't like that Moses married an Ethiopian woman.

The verse doesn say homosexual or hetrosexual.

Anon, that guest speaker is a fool and has no clue of the Scriptures, much less the nature of God.

Let me put it this way. Read Numbers 12, that'll answer whatever question or confusion there is on this. Any thinking of interracial marriage being wrong is in opposition with the Lord's Way.

The verse doesn say homosexual or hetrosexual.

Verse says no longer male or female.  If there is no longer male or female by applying this verse to dating relationships, the logical conclusion is that homosexual relationships are okay.

Your scripture reference is misused.  The context has nothing to do with interracial dating.
