Hey...
I was listening to a Christian podcast where a married Christian woman was giving her advice to Christian singles who wanted to get married.
She advised listeners (followers of Christ) not to pursue dating but only courtship.
Her reason was because 'dating leads to pre-marital sex (sinning against God), where courtship leads to marriage.
What you think?
Of course, courtship and dating are the same thing. It just has different purposes. Some people date other for the sake of having fun, feeling loved and maybe have sex. That's it. Then there are those that when they date, they evaluate their partner and see if it is possible to take things further (marriage).
She seems wrapped up in religious terminologies... I think you shouldn't consider her credible in marriage counseling.

Need to hear more, but based on what you have written, I agree~ Courtship of course meaning being around adults at all times. Parents are guilty of allowing their children in situations where they are very vulnerable to give into certain sins, instead of fleeing. Sexual burning is too great for them to forebear it's great temptations. When we allow our young adults of the opposite sex to be isolated in order to get to know each other, then trust me,
they WILL get to know each other very well, yes, too well~ and once that happens, it is impossible to reel them back to sanity again! At THAT point, parents lose all control of their children~from that point forward, most parents are there for the ride, accepting what their children decide to do with their life and whom they will spend their time with. Very scary is it not? Not from messing all over themselves needing the parent to clean them, and now they are let loose to make a fifty year commitment on who THEY want to marry! No wonder marriages do not last any more.
