: Limited info when I use the quote feature
: 4WD Mon Oct 23, 2017 - 08:23:21
When I use the quote feature the entire quote does not appear.  Only that posted by the author of the post appears.  That makes it very difficult to respond to what is being discussed.  So much so that I am just about to the point that It is more trouble than it is worth.  I would like to remain an active participant, but doing so as it is now takes more time than it is worth.

I currently use Google Chrome, but I get much the same results with Edge and with Mozilla Firefox.  So what is my problem?

From what I remember from somnother discussions here I was thinking the long nested quote thing had been disabled. Some other tech savvy mod might have better info.

I see other posts which seem to me to have included nested quotes.  But if that is the case, then that is too bad, because it is just too much trouble to respond coherently as it is now.

I agree, I really don't understand what's happening with some and not others.

I, also have only the limited quote feature, which for me does not bother me as much, but I still have horrible troble with the posting feature.

When I do a new thread, or reply and then hit post, I get a session timed out.. which is what made me switch to a new ID away from Rella to begin with.

Now in order to actually post I need to hit post.

Wait for the notice my session has timed out.

Then hit preview and make sure the preview view is in fact readable.

Then hit post.

Once in a while I will get that timed out notice again and the same sequence has to be done. ::doh::

would not be so bad if I was ot often in a hurry and sometimes forget to hit the post button to make sure it gets posted cause I have
lost some replies .

So now I write my replies in a doc.

Then hit the quote.

Then copy and paste and follow as above.

and if it does not get posted, I then can redo with the copy and paste.

A long way around too much of the time.

Is alright though.

For the best cause it makes me stop and think before responding, and that often is for the best.

The quote feature does not work for me at all. I'm using a Mac,  Safari.
