Many, many times when I post, I keep crashing out back to the Grace Centered main page with a 404 message.
It's VERY VERY frustrating. If it can't be sorted I'm giving up on this forum.
Got this again just trying to modify a post
There Is A Problem
Unfortunately, the page you are looking for has been moved or deleted. This happens sometimes, usually because we changed a link, so don't worry it's not your fault. Please use the menu at the top of the page to find the information you are looking for. Thanks for visiting and God bless you.
I am registered on at least a dozen other SMF forums, and this one is the only one that gives me grief. It's been this way since the day I joined, formatting issues are the biggest thorn for me, quite often my BB Code switches do not work, or I'll end up with and tags strewn about the post.
I've learned to use patience here, but quite often I'm not able to create posts as I would normally like to.
I haven't had the "There is a Problem" redirect page in a while, I had thought that our technical admin had corrected that issue.
Had the same issue earlier when I could reply to a quote for one, but then when I tried, in the same thread.... several times to reply to another person I got the main page and 404 message just like winsome is commenting about.
As it is, I still cannot just hit a post button and have a message or reply posted, I first must hit preview, wait for that to show up then hit post. Sometimes a couple of times at that

I've found a way that seems to help.
Mostly I prepare a post in Word, sort out font style & font sizes, formatting like bold and italics and font colours. I then do a copy and paste into the forum post.
It then crashes.
I suspect the embedded Word formatting is too much for the forum to cope with.
So for long posts I prepare them as normal in Word but then copy and paste into MS Notebook which removes all the formatting.
A copy and paste from Notebook to the forum then seems to work OK.
I then have to go though the post to put in bold, italic and font colour formatting which it very tedious. But it seems to work.

Yes, I learned, the hard way, to either do a word doc and copy and paste, or start and email, from which I can copy and paste.
Most annoying to have written a lot and then it disappears, or just won't send.
I had to change my user name and open a newaccount here last year because I was unable to post or reply to anything under my original Rella one.
This one is not without issues but I have learned to cope, and develop patience, which I am always short on.
I cannot see if anything is posted in my signature line area because it dose not show. And to post anything, I have to first preview it, then hit post, then hit preview again and then post.
If I hit post first I get ...
The following error or errors occurred while posting this message:
Your session timed out while posting. Please try to re-submit your message.
And the same when I preview first, then hit post... It is as if it requires a double effort. Maybe to see if you are serious ???
And often when I have posted something, I go back later and it is gone.
But I am plodding along
Why is this forum so unstable
I guess you can have stable forums or stable people posting therein, but not both.

And then there are those that are both unstable rofl
I am reasonable as UN stable as the next ::frown:: and I belong to 2 forums with the very same layout as GC.
Both this one and that one have very troubled issues ... and the same ones. ::sick::
OH NO... Perhaps it is I that is causing issues..... ::headscratch::
But they seem to iron out given a day or week or so
