It has been snowing here in Michigan from 4 A.M. this morning and it is now going on 5 O'clock.
and the wind in blowing it around a lot..... There is at least 7 inc. if not more...... the wind is making
it hard to figure out....... our deck has a foot in one place and nothing in another..... and it is in the 20's...
It's made it's way here now ::intherain::
We're supposed to get to 69 by Wednesday.

We have 17* right now going up to 21 ............ winter ! Lots of snow!
High today 17 , it was 3* this morning....... and yesterday we had more snow ...
When the wind blows out in the farm area hard to tell how much...... it looked like 3 or 4 inc.
Going down to 1 tonight. and more snow in the next 2 day's........ at least we do not have to shovel.
But one of the grand children takes the tractor and does the drive way. which is very long.. and of
course not with cement......
We're getting walloped here, snowed all day yesterday, and tomorrow we're supposed to get a big blast starting in the morning and going all day....again!
Here in Michigan its been snowing since I woke up this morning , at about 5:30 AM. and it is now
2 in the afternoon and its still coming down........ I guess the children like it ........ no school !
And we are supposed to get more snow tomorrow and the next day.......... WINTER sure is here !
Where I grew up, we would call this a Friday.

Friday here too, kids are in school and work as usual, with the exception of the sloppy roads.

Does Ontario require snow tires? Guess not, I was thinking of Quebec.
School is canceled over here now ! I am sure all the children love it ! ::smile::

No, normally we wouldn't need them but this year they're sold out everywhere.
We got to 66 today, so I went out to get some vitamin D. I opened all the windows in the house to give it a good airing out.
Tomorrow, the bottom falls out again. We're getting freezing rain, sleet, and ending with just a little snow. ::frown::
I like snow, but not this freezing rain stuff.
(Grams, you stay warm up there!)
mommydi,
Thanks ! I am trying... Now I know what the old lady's go through...."old age stinks" I want to go home!
its hard to stay warm here ......this year is so much colder ! And having snow fall after snow fall, etc.
We are in a farm area, and no paved streets..... and the older grand son took the plow and shoveled
the long drive way so his Dad could drive up to the house...... from work.

This year has been dreadful in our area, I'm only a few hours away so we're getting pretty much the same thing here. Snow removal services are lagging behind and already way over budget, the drive to and from work has been just awful. Hoping for a better March grams, looks as though February is going to give us winter to the fullest.
On a good note, the wife and I are away for a week to the tropics in 2 weeks, that will ease the pain a bit.

Well in case I forget that....... Now I will say " Have a great time ! enjoy the time ! Relax "!
It is around high 60's and should be in the low 70's this week. Can someone tell me what snow looks like? I just arrived in my office/man cave/shop and raised the window and made coffee~4:00 a.m.! You guys keep that snow up north, or you can come south and enjoy this beautiful weather. I'll make you some good coffee and good southern SWEET tea. Also, I'll prepare you some good southern ice cream called GRITS, with a little bacon grease for an extra favor! ::smile:: ::yummy::

I will take iced tea without any sweetener. Northerners are made of sterner stuff.
The old saying, "If you don't like the weather - wait a minute" fits Oklahoma perfectly. We had freezing rain overnight and we're at a lovely 19 degrees right now, but by Thursday, we'll be hitting 70 with thundershowers. Yo-yo weather.
Well, our weather sure is not changing! snow , snow, snow and more snow.......
winds make it hard to measure........ one place a foot and a half...... another 8 inches..... and higher and
lower in different places.... It stopped a hour ago....... weeeeeeeeeeeeeee.......
Its warmed up now , so no snow.........But instead we have rain...... rain......... rain...... rain.
So much rain the pond has over flowed............ and puddles started to form all over, we have
10 acres and half of it is like one big pond now, they started to connect, it stopped raining a while
back , but the w. R. said more rain later..........Sure hope not.......... ::eek::

My drive could be overrun with water from a creek if it doesn't let up.
Same, it's been raining for 3 days now. Glad to see the snow gone though.
We were in the 70s two days ago, but then the freezing ice hit. Expecting another round of it this afternoon.
It's cloudy and 29 say's going up to 36..........
And it shows rain tomorrow and the next day!

Rain sounds good. We've had a mix of rain and ice over the last couple of days. My daughter in Oklahoma City is home from work today because everything is shut down over there due to the ice storm.
Hovering around the freezing mark today, tomorrow it will be a bit warmer with 90% chance of rain.
Tomorrow we leave for a week in the tropics, hopefully the worst part of winter is behind us.
: Alan Thu Feb 22, 2018 - 09:15:27
Tomorrow we leave for a week in the tropics...
Keep rubbing it in, Alan! ::noworries::
Seriously, soak up plenty of sunshine and take a pic or two to post for the rest of us who are shivering by our fireplaces. I hope you and your lovely wife have a fun, warm, relaxing vacation. ::smile::
We in the UK are apparently going to have very cold weather next week with temperatures only reaching 2oC with snow etc. Brrrr.
Mind you I don't mind the winter or the cold and I actually hate very hot weather so I am not in the least jealous of anyone living in a hot climate. Anything above 21oC (or 70oF) is too hot for me.

Thanks, we really need the vacation and some nice relaxing time together. I hope it's 90 degrees with a few fast and furious thunderstorms ::cool::

All week here it has been in the HIGH 70's just absolutely beautiful. It's above normal for sure, so I expect some cooler days coming, cooler like in the sixties, and it still will freeze again before April, I'm sure of that, but it will get warm quickly during the day. Most all of our cold weather is behind us, what little we had.
We now have 34 and going up to 46 and we may have rain today.
The big pond is starting to get back to normal..... but if it rains I doubt it will keep going...... ?
See you all in a week :)
Have a great time Alan.....
We are going to be raining most of the days you are gone and the daytime highs 40 to 50*f
Not bad this time of year but sure would love a nice hot location about now.
: Alan Fri Feb 23, 2018 - 14:17:43
See you all in a week :)
Have fun, Alan. Post pics or it didn't happen. ::smile:: I'm also wondering if you're going to purchase any tacky souvenirs (which I like). ::tippinghat::
Bon voyage!
Happy trails to you (and the Mrs.)!
Adieu!
Safe travels!
Till we meet again!
Sorry I missed saying have a great trip !!!!!!! My family left today also....... just for a day.
To go swimming, we have a pond, but its all ice now........ Winter time.........
Alan, hope you and your family have / had a great time............. ::smile:: ::clappingoverhead:: ::noworries::
Theysay spring begins this week. I say they lie.
But of course we have global warming to thank for this cold.... and misery.
Palm Sunday is next Sunday yet we are expecting mixed rain and snow tomorrow and Wed.and no real improvement weatherwise in the long term view.
I can just picture the pagan celebration of those colored easter eggs, hidden from the children under a blanket of snow for their egg hunts. ::doh::
Or even those attending their Easter services or sunrise in their pretty new dresses being covered up with their winter parkas.........
Snow is stupid.... an. Oh I know the skiers like it.
I often wonder what eternity will be like for those who prefer warmth, or cold. Sand or snow. Palm trees or leaves dropping in color every year. We all are so opposite in many things.... Will be interesting to find out.
Now at about 6:50 PM. we have 28*.......... This morning when I went for a walk it felt like I did not
have my coat on........ it felt that cold..... and it was windy.....
the next few day's we will still be in the 30's in the day time, but night time will be teens or 20's.
Wow ! P. Sunday and Easter, WOW ............ it sure does not feel like its that time.
We do not get a news paper and we do not get to go out much........ so........ I am behind times..
Church is over a hour away, $ [ gas ] $ and we miss it a lot........ big family so the money goes to feeding the
children....... 8 children can eat double like 16 people would eat.......

Raise cats for meat. So good.
March is such a tease, especially in Oklahoma. We're all happy it's gradually getting warmer, but the wind is so strong and cold. Those winds whip up wildfires in the dry, western part of the state, which blow our way - "where the wind comes sweeping down the plain." Lots of Okies stay sick in March due to breathing smokey air that's heavy with pollen.
Come on April!!!
Raise cats for meat. So good.
????????????????? WHAT ????????????
WE do have cows, ducks , chickens , geese.............. and you think ??????????????????
? ::doh::
