Big Mike Lewis

Will Ferrell is Ricky Bobby in the new movie.  Looks hilarious!!!

What's a NASCAR driver got to do with sports?

There are pro wrestling threads on the Sports board, too.  Same idea.

Auto racing is one of my favorite sports.

Then you should come drive on US-15 in Maryland.  Plenty who believe the posted speed limit is a minimum, and that drafting is an excellent idea.  Usually while talking on a cell phone.

People from Ohio and Indiana are always complaining about how people drive in Michigan.  On I-96 in Michigan, most folks believe that 10 miles over the speed limit is the minimum.

After driving in California a few years back, I've decided that all of us east of the Mississippi are amateurs.

Five lanes of bumper-to-bumper traffic in the bay area, all of it going fifteen miles over the speed limit.

A shocking number of people on the lonely stretch of road near where James Dean died trying their best to re-enact the event....

I lived for over six years in San Diego county, and have driven frequently in LA and the SF Bay area; I know California driving.

Of course, LA traffic is just like DC beltway traffic: either travelling 20 or more mph over the speed limit, or at a dead crawl.  Nothing in between.

Then maybe you can answer a little question I have.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH THOSE PEOPLE!!!!
Sorry.  Just some leftover frustration.  California is a beautiful place, but I've vowed to never drive west of Fresno again.

(although, for some reason I can't explain, driving in San Jose was okay if you stayed off 101 or the interstates, and downtown San Francisco was managable.  Fun, even, what with the hills.

But anyone driving in San Luis Obispo is taking his or her life in his or her hands.)

What bothered me most about Bay Area interstate traffic was that I left at 6 AM to get out ahead of rush hour, and I didn't.

That's insane.

That's because everyone else was trying to get ahead of the rush hour, too.
