The above link dpr, is to the book THE HUGUENOTS OR REFORMED FRENCH CHURCH, by William Henry Foote. It is a good book that you should read. Starting on page 590, it addresses the Huguenots settling in SC.

Now why would I care to read that when I have The Word of God to study and obeying Lord Jesus' command to WATCH the SIGNS He gave leading up to His future return?

I'm done with history books, and I have been a major student of history. My family's French history in France that brought them to the Americas is enough.

History itself is filled with the fulfilled signs of biblical prophecy we are supposed to be watching for. Denying those signs by denying the testimonies of our ancestors regarding what they went through at the hands of those they claimed were fulfilling prophecy by persecuting them, is not watching the signs. It is ignoring them. Nevertheless, the history of one peoples from one country most certainly is not enough, as a great many peoples from a great many countries suffered under the same persecutions from the same persecuting power you are and continue to deny as being what history has revealed it most obviously is.

Why do you not believe the testimony of your ancestors and so very many others? Are you sure you really understand the true history of your french family? Perhaps you could learn a great deal from this book which traces that exact history of the Huguenots right up to their arrival in SC.

I think I agree with what you said there.  Too many see the prophecy of the end times being a description of events that take place over a brief period of time near the end before Jesus returns.  I see the prophecy of the end times being a description of the entire period between the first and second comings of Jesus Christ. That is the meaning of phrases like "last days" or "the end times" or "the ends of the ages" in the NT. If that is what you intended there, then I agree totally.

Yes, apart from the YEC or DTE debate, we seem to have agreed several times over the years regarding other issues. It only makes sense that biblical prophecy is for and applicable to God's people throughout their history, rather than just one generation here or there, or at the end of time.

2Pe 1:16 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. 17 For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. 18 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount. 19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: 20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

There's a old saying on history that is relevant, "those that cannot remember the past are destined to repeat it"
