Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers QB, was injured in a motorcycle accident this morning.  Apparently not wearing a helmet.  Not many details yet.

Sounds like the typical left-hand turn into the path of the motorcycle.  The driver of the other car simply did not see the smaller motorcycle.  It sounds like a full-face helmet would have prevented most of the injuries, which were to the face and head.

I think it is the utmost stupidity to ride without the proper protective gear.  Motorcycling is an inherently risky activity, but wearing a helmet and gear cuts down on the possibility of serious injury or death.

Yep.  You'd think that someone who wears a helmet during his day job would have the sense to wear one on a bike.
