I liked:

Babylon 5
Star Trek: The Next Generation
Cheers
Everybody Loves Raymond
Pinky and the Brain

msbradley

Man, the 1st one that came to my mind was Candid Camera, then I finally see where someone thought of it.
When I was young, I liked:

My 3 Sons
Father Knows Best
Dick Van Dyke Show
Leave it to Beaver
Beverly Hillbillies

I used to get freaked out watching the Twilight Zone, but I loved it!!

When my kids were young, we loved watching the Cosby Show and the Wonder Years. (If I run across the Cosby Show now while flipping channels, I stop and watch it.)

When I was 17 I started working for the phone company as a Directory Assistance Operator. We worked all kinds of hours. A few times, I called in to take Tuesday night off so I could watch Happy Days!!! (I was 20 then!!)

janine

Ah, Yoot.

I like to buy those old shows on DVD when I see them at a good price.

Godchaser

I love the old ones!!!  Get so excited when they still come on every now and then.  Watched a couple Lucy's today in fact!

1.  Andy Griffeth  (they still do him all the time, thankfully)
2.  Leave it to Beaver (Every now and then)
3,  Bonanza ( Once a week)
4.  I love Lucy  ( Pretty often)
5.  Father Knows Best  (Never....sure wish they would, or put it out on CD )

I may be a good thing that I do not get some of the nostalgia cable channels;  I find that my faves of long ago seem so lame when I see them today on DVD.  I guess that goes with growing up, or becoming more conservative...(sorry, I guess I was a little redundant there...]  In any case, I have been disappointed by viewing several of my best remembered on DVD, including "Rocky&Bullwinkle,"

Nonsense.

Don't forget boring, petty and selfish.
And I've put on weight...

But that doesn't make me a bad person... ::frown::

I was in love with Dianna Riggs also, as well as with Barbara Parkins on Peyton Place.

I may have a crush on Mary Tyler Moore in the Dick Van Dyke Show, but I don't think it wasn't serious until she arrived "unattached" in her own show a couple of years later.

Red Skelton had his moments, but he was never my favorite.  Jackie Gleason was more of my kind of clown...

Thanks for the memories...havva Manna!

nice trip down memory lane, pre 1975 there were somany good shows on the air and they had morals, no back talk to parents (i remember when greg brady tried to do it and he was put into hisplace, now-a-days it is a free for all as children think they know better than anyone else).

many of my old favorites were mentioned: dragnet, adam 12, red skelton, carol burnett, bonanza, the andy griffith show, beverly hillbillies, petticoat junction, newheart andso on but...

some not mentioned:  perry mason, emergency, gilligan's island, the brady bunch, the rookies ad i am sure there are many more.

Andy Griffith
Petticoat Junction
Green Acres
Beverly Hillbillies
Munsters

I endorse Spurly's:
Green Acres and
The Munsters

I'd add:
The Addams Family
McHale's Navy
Lawman (old western, 1958-1962, on the AmericanLife cable network)
The FBI (AmericanLife)

James Rondon

"The Twilight Zone" is definitely on my list. I look forward to catching the Sci-Fi Channel's New Year's Eve Marathon every year.

If we are going to mention being in love with one of the characters - I confess a Barbara Eden deficiency.  Perhaps an Elizabeth Montgomery one too.

OK, this is the thread for your Top Five favorite old TV shows, or newer ones no longer in production...

My clear #1, and IMHO the best televison show ever produced...

The Andy Griffith show

The rest, in no particular order:

Everybody Loves Raymond
Seinfeld
Hill Street Blues
Mystery Science Theater 3000

OD

thanks for aasking....
I ;was just about to ask the same before i seen this post.
mine are:
Leave it to Beaver
The Andy Griffith Show
The Craft
Sanford and Sons
The Brady Bunch

I had a hard time of putting "The Andy Griffith Show"and,"The Craft" in their places,
since the two are my favorites and they both fall in the same rank.
The craft i really loved, and cried like a baby when they took it off the air.Dang.
Sooooo,i noticed at the walmart that they have the dvd of the show!Like only for
$30.So,naturally,i went out and bought it!YAY!!!

xpressmyfaith

My top 5 favorite TV shows are:

1) Frasier
2) King of Queens
3) Everybody Loves Raymond
4) Wings
5) Miami Vice

sunflower1984

I know these aren't exactly super old... but I LOVED to watch Wings and the newer Dark Shows tv show.

I normally don't like shows about vampires and such... but I fell in love with the remade Dark Shadows. I was so sad when they had a cliffhanger on the end of the first season and then decided NOT to bring the show back!!

Of course, I was a kid... so if I watched the show now, I might feel differently. ;)
