Yes!

1. Genesis 6:9-8:22 We see in this passage that God used water to remove Sin from the World. Noah and his family were saved because they believed and Obeyed God.

If Noah and his family had only believed God and did not obey, would they have been saved any way? I think we know the answer is "NO"

In the New Testament 1 Peter 3:20-21 tell us that Noah and his family were saved by water. Baptism symbolizes the waters of the flood, the removal of SIN.

Acts 2:38 shows us that the waters of Baptism removes sin from us just like God removed sin from the Earth in the Flood.

2. Exodus 14:13-31 We see here this is a type of salvation, in verse 30 God states that. Again if Israel had just believed and not obeyed would they be saved? Again I think we know the answer. " NO".

1 Corinthians 10:1-3 We see from this passage that the Old testament type salvation of crossing of the Red sea symbolizes Baptism a New Testament type of salvation

There's an anti-type of Old Testament salvation in the New Testament.

Does that answer the question?

The gospel was given to Adam and Eve in prophetic form.  We are not privy to what degree of disclosure was given them from God regarding their understanding of the prophetic gospel.  In other words, while Genesis records in very limited fashion the prophecy of Christ to come, that is not all we should assume was told to them since Genesis is not a comprehensive record of all communications between Adam, Eve and God.

What we do know, however, is that from Adam onward it is faith in the promise of God, specifically the gospel, either in prophetic, realized or historical form by which humans are saved.

From Adam onward it is faith and faith alone for the human race.

I am curious, did it also remove the sins of those in the Ark; or were they sinless.

Water baptism does not save us.  Baptism for forgiveness of sins was John's baptism:

1In the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar—when Pontius Pilate was governor of Judea, Herod tetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip tetrarch of Iturea and Traconitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene— 2during the high priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John son of Zechariah in the desert. 3He went into all the country around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. -- Luke 3:1-3

John's baptims does not save us:

1While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples 2and asked them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when[a] you believed?"
They answered, "No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit."
3So Paul asked, "Then what baptism did you receive?"
      "John's baptism," they replied.

4Paul said, "John's baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus." 5On hearing this, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus. 6When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied.  -- Acta 19:1-5

Notice that John's baptims or baptism for forgiveness does not save us.  The Ephesians did not receive the Holy Spirit through baptism at all, but through Paul's laying of hands on them.

In Christ,
KP

Gen 7:1 And the LORD said unto Noah, "Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation."  ::pondering::

From a practical vantage, the "reset" of the world pretty much took away all of the consequences of everyone's sins.  God even took away the curse on the ground that He put there for Adam's sin.

Oh boy.  Just what we needed another thread on the necessity of baptism. ::frustrated:: ::frustrated:: ::frustrated::  Johnb

This is so sad to me.  The difference in the salvation between the old and new testament is the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  If you're saying there is no difference, then, I don't know, that's really scary to me.

Dave...

OT saints looked forward, we look back. This gives a summery...

Romans 3:21 But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, 22 even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all[h] who believe. For there is no difference; 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, 26 to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

There is only one salvation.

The priesthood has changed, but the plan remains the same.

Because of God's loving kindness He gave fallen man a set of rules. (Grace)

If they believed they would then follow the rules.

Sacrifice for sin, believing the sacrifice covered your sin, believing in the sacrifice of Jesus removes sin. (Faith)

If you believe God, then Jesus died for your sins, put your faith in the Living Sacrifice, Our Great God and Savior, Jesus the Christ. (Grace and Faith)

Short version.

I don't think it would have been possible for Noah to have believed and not obey. He could have said he believed and done nothing, but that's a differnet story.
