Hello!

I'm trying to extract the lyrics of a very beautiful song but just one phrase is very hard to understand (english is not my mother tongue). Could someone help me just with that phrase? I uploaded the song to my website. It's here:

http://www.bossanovamusic.net/YoureNotAlone.mp3

Do you see the beauty of the task at hand?
Do you see your duty? Do you understand
That the Lord is with you in the place you are?
He's on this earth, not on a star

Do you know the pleasure of the common place?
Do you know the measure of God's love and grace?
He can bless your labours when they are great or small
And he will help you when you call

Does your life seem hard?
Does your life seem dull?
Jesus will regard
He will make it rich and full

Just have faith to know that Jesus lives in you
Just have faith to grow. His love will see you through
He presents you (?????)
And through His grace, my friend, you're not alone

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Hi, bossa-nova,

Welcome!  It sounds like he's singing, "He presents you faultless there before the throne"?  Thank you for the song!

love,

Sopranette

Thanks a lot! Difficult to understand, also cause it's an "old" record from 1975.
The singer is John Ramsey, who was the 1st tenor of The King's Heralds that time.
I think he was their best tenor ever! Very clean high voice.

Just one more thing. Do you think it should be:
Do you know the pleasure of the commonplace?

or:

Do you know the pleasure of the common place?

And what does this phrase mean?
Thanks!

sopranette

::pondering:: It does sound like, "common place", but I have to say I've never heard of this expression.  I'm not sure what it means.

love,

Sopranette

Big help!
:-)
Thanks!

I suppose you are a soprano!?
I'm a baritone. I used to sing in quartets but also solo.
From the King's Heralds I like just what they recorded in the 70s, which for me was their best time.

sopranette

Yes, I'm a mezzo-soprano.  I like the song!  I'll see if I can find others by them soon.  Thanks!

You find a lot of them from their great time in the 70s here (but you must register and confirm email in order to see the audio players):
