You tell someone that, you're assenting to ending the marriage.  Period.

Even if that's not what you're trying to do, that is the perception.

And it's not controlling them to expect them to do what they already agreed to.

No you are NOT.."assenting to ending the marriage"...

What you are saying is Im not going to play second fiddle to your mom and pop.(or anything).

MARRIED ISNT a piece of PAPER that allows for NEGLECT!

By your standards the dude caring MORE about his family is "assenting to divorce". Because marriage is paying more attention and spending more time with mommy and daddy and brothers..

So sure..sounds like the man in this case filed and agreed to divorce by NOT cleaving to his wife.

Even if thats NOT what the guy is trying to do..He is ENDING the marriage.

Dallas, until you actually HAVE this experience, you don't have any room to talk to me about it.

Thankfulldad

::shrug:: I think she gave up on our advise...but, who could blaime her; we ended up defending our view instead of giving her God's view.

God can heal this marraige; but, it will take both of them admitting they are wrong and both willing to seek God...who is always right.

A lot of ambiguous answers here.  A lot of beating around the brush.  Frankly if a man won't be a man.
If a man won't accept the responsibility of marriage and realize that what his family consists of is his
wife and/or offspring therefrom he is not a serious man.  such a person is still a mama's boy.  the thing
to do is get rid of him and remarry a real grown up man.  You need someone willing and able to accept
      responsibility.  GOD Bless.

Unless he's comitted adultery, there is no Biblical way to "get rid of him".

Trust me..I live in "extended family "  ville..I have the experience and Im not divorced.(21 years of marriage and a 25 year relationship)I have "room" to talk about it.

But if you dont think I do..I dont know who you think would...Maybe the people who failed at dealing with it.

Good luck.
