Hi,
I'm 26 and I broke up with my boyfriend 7 months ago. We dated for a year and a half. Since then we've kept in touch over the phone going through both ups and downs. He became a Christian when we were dating and even served in a new believer style church. Now he says he just wants to focus on school, and although he knows God is omnipotent, he doesn't want to have a relationship with Him right now.

It's really hard for me because I still like him and the only reason I broke up with him in the first place is because he wasn't putting the Lord first. Now he's not accepting the Lord into any place in his life :(

After we broke up it seems like he changed into a completely different person. However, he still knows he needs the Lord and that his life is not going in the right direction right now.

Should I just give him over to the Lord and not talk to him anymore or continue to send him verses, etc? He doesn't have anyone else in his life that is a believer. He turned his back on everyone from the church, and he only hangs out with his friends who party now. I feel like I'm the only one that keeps on initiating things with him. What will it take for him to initiate anything?!

Personally I think you need to le him go. This isnt helping you at all, and its probably stopping you from moving on. yes pray for him, but he is a big boy and can make his own decisions. He knows about God and can decide to do the right thing. Give him to God and trust God to work in him.

Thank you. I feel like that was confirmation as to what I have done in my heart- giving him to the Lord. Releasing is such a big weight off my shoulders. I feel so refreshed!

Gonna try walking with God and trusting Him, instead of taking the fast rollercoaster home, if you know what I mean! :)

Isa 55:11  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Thank you for the verse, both of your replies mean a lot!

I asked the Lord that He would soften your husband's heart; I hope it will happen very soon

yes, I know what you mean, we all take the rollercoaster sometimes dont we. ::smile:: You have done the right thing and I know it wont have been easy, but your heavenly Dad wants the best for you. I have three close friends with non believing husbands, and they all find it hard. God is very wise when He tells us not to be uneaqually yoked. Also you arent responsible for this guys salvation, but rest assured, God will keep on persuing him. God will bless you for your faithfullness and obedience. ::nodding::
