Speaking personally, and all things being equal, what do you think is the ideal age to get married? I'm targeting 30. I guess at that stage I'll be sufficiently mature and life-experienced , plus I want to enjoy the advantages of single life for a reasonable length of time.

Its hard to say. I got married the first time at 19. At that time, in the 70's, many people did marry at that age, and also no one lived together generally. Also it does of course depend on when you meet the right person. My son is marrying next year and he will be 33 and she will be 28. Had he met her earlier I am sure he would have married much sooner.
For me I think the right age would have been about 25ish with having kids about late 20's ish, but of couse everyone varies in their level of matuity.
Many people leave it so late to have children. I know quite a few people who had children in their 40's and that is becoming more and more common now. Practically unheard of when I had my kids, you were considered to be an old mum if you were over 30 then.

My step sons are aged 23 and nearly 27 and neither of them are anywhere near ready to marry in my opinion, and neither have a girlfriend and they still live at home. MY daughter aged 29 left home 6 years ago and is certainly ready to marry but hasnt met the right guy yet.

There is no "right" age.  Everyone is different and every couple is different.  If 30 works for you, I say go for it!

I agree. I got married when I was 21, my husband was 24. It worked perfectly for us, and we have on of the best relationships I know of.

Get married when you want to if you are both consenting adults.
Some get married young(er), some old(er)..there is no age limit.
