Hey,
So I'm a freshman in college and I've been in a relationship for about nine months now. We both believe in the principle that, while there's not necessarily "the one" you're supposed to marry, as long as you find somebody that you can see yourself marrying and that loves Jesus, God will bless that, because dating just to date or giving your heart away to try and find the perfect spouse isn't exactly what God planned. And I'm not saying that's wrong that's just my approach to dating. Anyway because of this we have committed to each other to stay together and get married after college. I'm crazy about her in every way, and she feels the same, but there's always been a big stumbling block for me that hurts me and probably keeps the relationship that could be all that it could be from my side of things, and that's jealousy. She's had two boyfriends before me (I've tried to save myself and so haven't been in a relationship), and even though she really regrets giving herself away in that way (physically, nothing too bad though, emotionally, etc, and she really does regret it she's cried to me about it) it's still really hard for me to take that for some reason. Last summer, when we were best friends, she kissed a guy at camp (it took me three months after we both knew we liked each other for me to get to that point) I found that out not too long ago and for whatever reason I just can't seem to get over it. But the main problem, the biggest thing I need help with, is her guy friends. She doesn't have a lot, and she's only close to a very few of them, but she goes to school an hour and a half away and whenever I hear about new guys she's met or when she says there are drunk guys in her room at 2 in the morning talking with her and her roommate or when I see them post stuff on her facebook or stupid stuff like that i just get this crazy flare of jealousy and I hate it but I don't know what to do about it. I trust her, I really do, and I know I'm not doing my best job of showing her that but I can't help but think about what those other guys are thinking about, those that know her or have been with her or have just met her that don't know she has a boyfriend... I feel pretty helpless and I just wish that everyone in the world would know that she's mine (for my failing sense of security AND cause I'm just so dang lucky :), but that's impossible and I don't want to smother her, she's starting to feel that way. I just don't know what to do and I thank anyone who takes the time to read this novel and give me advice.
In Christ,
Jealous in Athens

Oh and one more problem I have: she has friends who she says are just friends, and I'm friends with some of them too and I can see that, but that have had feelings for her in the past. Should I be concerned about this, or do I just need to find a way to get over it too?
