What's with the mana and stars?

I hope this is the right place for it...I was just curious what it was for. It seems like two different rating systems. I read the rules and didn't see it explained. I'm probably having a  moment and can't find the fabled FAQ page....Probably right in front of me too.

You needed 50 posts before that [Add to manna] appeared.  

Talk about coincidental. That was neat; you just reached 50 posts.  

The stars represent different levels of total posts you have made. Once you pass a certain criterion another star will be added when you attain 500 posts and the word "Member" will change to "Senior Member" right above the stars.

And who ever said God didn't have a sense of humor? Since he made us in his image, humor wouldn't exist if he didn't have one.
