Eharmony is NOT a Christian site, I found out!

Well, it is a luke warm site?  Or, whatever you are "at peace" with site?  I joined thinking that I would meet some Christian men but my lack of wanting to get laid with them seems to be a deterrent ;)  I posted on their forums to see what gives and boy howdy!  Did I get an earful of flesh-induced, lukewarm, carnal desire excusing twaddle!!

People claimed that they loved God but were at peace with sleeping with someone before marriage as they were not perfect.  The local "co-religion, it's all the same path" gal informed me that maybe these men did not follow whichever god I was following and another told me she remembered when she was a fundamental and wouldn't sleep with anyone before marriage but now divorce and age had changed that.

Then, they deleted my entire thread!  No reason given.  I merely thanked people for their thoughts too  ::shrug::

Why do I find this more insidious than the secular sites?  It feels misleading and...evil to me.

I need to delete that account.

Bitter Sweet

I think a lot of sites aren't really geared towards marriage but just dating.

I think you are serious about marriage, a lot of men out there want to test the waters before making a commitment. Not trusting God but themselves instead. I know you trust God, and it's good you can see through all their intentions before they even attempt to take advantage of you.

You and your future husband will be in my prayers.  ::smile::

I was on 2 different sites in the UK for 2 years before I met my husband. You do need to be very careful as just because someone says they are a Christian that means nothing. Maybe you need to do some research to see if you can find sites that are specifically for born again believers. The 2 that I was on were pretty good but sadly just for the Uk, but most people on them were actually Christians.
Eharmony sounds like trouble if they are attracting people who just want sex and who are from different religions.

I never tried eharmony, but I have tried other dating sites in the past.  I even met my current girlfriend, a church-choir singing, beautiful young christian on one of them.  It wasn't easy, and as a woman looking for men, it's probably going to be even harder for you...  I've seen examples of some of the emails women get on those sites, and it's just saddening to hear other men talk to women that way (I'll post a few of the funnier examples at the bottom)

You just have to look hard.  We're out there looking just as hard for good women.  The problem is that there are so many who are only looking for physical "fun" and not good, Christ centered relationships.

Have you tried Christian Mingle?  It is geared towards Christians, and while I haven't used it, I would expect it to be less revolting at the least.

OK, so now my favorite example, and response, that my girlfriend shared with me from the dating site she was on before we met:

GUY:  So what type of (male sex organ) do you like?
HER:  Really small ones.  Like super tiny!
She never heard back from him.

Oh mercy LOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks all for the input, very appreciated!

I am taking a break from the dating for a while :)  I am still talking to a very nice, very handsome, kind and forgiving man who I do not know for sure if he is saved.  Right after he and I started talking a few months back I kinda freaked out and told him I didn't want to see him anymore, deleted him from Facebook, oh yeahhhhh REAL nice kind behavior on my part.  I think I spooked myself and freaked out a little???  *embarrassed*  Well, we were playing that Scrabble game, Words With Friends and I just noticed a few days ago that he had continued to try and play with me as well as messaging me once every week or two.  I apologized, he forgave me (and in a very dear way).  So, I at least have a new friend to play Words with and who knows?  He said he was Catholic but right now I'm cool just being pals :)

At least he's not a so-called Christian whose really out to get laid OI!!!!!!!!!!
