Because as Jesus said, "other sheep I have that are not of this fold."

Why would he bring the gospel to one small corner of the world and forsake everyone else?

That is what Christians are for, to spread the word around the world.

There were also no Christians in many other parts of the world to at that time.

Thats why he has given us a lot of time to spread the gospel message.

Right, and most likely Christ visited other parts of the world as well.

Christians do not believe that Jesus visited other parts of the world.  Jesus only was in Israel.

Why not? Does the Bible ever say that Jesus didn't visit other lands? You don't think it's possible that Jesus appeared to others after he was resurrected?

Using the logic that if the bible doesn't say something occured, then I could make up anything I wanted.

I could say that Jesus made bubble gum out of rocks.

But according to your logic, if the Bible didn't specifically say something, it must not have happened.

You could say that, and I'd think it was a peculiar belief. The difference is that I wouldn't preclude you from the Christian community so long as you still accepted Christ as your savior.

Those other sheep are the Gentiles.

the_last_gunslinger

QuoteThose other sheep are the Gentiles.

He very well may be referring also to the gentiles. But nowhere in there do I see anything indicating that it was only the gentiles he was speaking about. Even so, the verse in question has as its primary theme, that of one flock under one shepherd. It makes sense, then, that Jesus Christ would enact ways whereby men everywhere would be able to come into the fold, so to speak.

You mustn't read what you want to read into the passage. Of course He was talking about the Gentiles.

Does it "MAKE SENSE, THEN," that what Jesus "ENACT"ED was the Gospel message of His coming to Earth as a human being, lived, was put to death in payment for man's sins, and was resurrected to life so that we may live forever, also?

There is no other "WAYS" by which any man is saved and able to enter the fold.

I could say the same to you. I don't see any mention or reference to gentiles in that verse.More than likely, he was referring to them also, but I don't think it a stretch to believe he meant for others, for he clearly desired all men to be of 'one flock.'

I detect a hint of hostility in this post, and I'm not sure why. I don't object to what you posted here.

What others? There are only Jews and Gentiles.

You suggest there are other WAYS by which Jesus Christ enables mankind to enter the fold. There is only ONE WAY. The suggestion doesn't make sense.

I praise you, God we don't have to rely on our common sense, but Your wonderful plan of redemption!

I didn't mean to imply there were other ways. Jesus Christ is the only way. The confusion arose over a simple wayward 's.'

Very telling. The 's' wasn't the only thing that is wayward. Adding another revelation to what God has already given us that was complete is another so-called 'way'. Wayward, indeed.
