character limit for personal messages?

Is there a character limit for private messages.  I keep trying to send somebody a message and keep getting this error message.

The thing that makes me wonder if there is a character limit is that when I've sent this person a couple short messages tonight (one for a test and another to ask for an email address since pm isn't working) it will  work but then I try the long one again and get the same error message.  I even thought maybe a message I had responded to had been deleted so I started it as a new message and it still didn't work.

Copy & paste usually has issues with this forum in posting.

There is likely a word somewhere that is causing it in your PM. Try sending sections of your PM at a time & see which section the word is in. Also some fonts don't translate to our fonts.
