Thank You.......

How long do you want to live ?

Today I would love to go home yesterday !

For 50 some years I grew up  a Catholic, and did not know any thing about salvation.  Just going to confession all the time.

Our children brought us out of this.   To a  bible church.
No religion.

We all became saved.
But till that time I wanted to live for ever.
I was scared of death.   Because I was sure I was going to hell !
The confessional needed a swinging door , because I felt like I was always forgetting some thing......  if I did not confess it all then I was not going to heaven........

Now I know , because my GOD tell me in the  /  bible tells me  I am saved !
GOD  sent HIS Son to the cross for my sins.

I would like to live well into my 80's.

Long life is completely depend upon healthy and disease free lifestyle. Therefore we need to keep our self more healthy and disease with fair and hygienic habits and practices. Hygienic practices & healthy lifestyle includes  strict diet plan; regular physical workouts; eat clean and stay clean. I hope with the help of these above factors we are able to live a long life.

For as long as humanely possible. I live life to it's fullest every day and I find something to smile and be happy about every day.  ::intherain::Bring on the rain, there is always  a rainbow at the end.

Helen

As long as I'm needed, but, to tell the truth, I'm tired of living with pain.  But God knows what He's doing and He'll call me home at the right time.

Rella

I am in my late 60s and I am ready to depart this world as soon as God sees fit.

I am not part of things here and am ready for eternity

grams

I  am going to be 79 in 2 months.

And I really do want to go home !

Being saved and  knowing now I am going to heaven is just great !

But since I drank and  smoked in my early years, I was sure I was
going to  hell.  [  I should be dead all reay ]

Now I know that  Jesus is my savor and I am in a hurry to get to heaven.
I will see all my brothers and sister there one day.

Amen. I am 58 and hope to live till my 80s at least. I have three lovely kids and a baby grandson who I want to see grow up. I also have a lovely husband who I dont want to leave, we have only been married 8 years and I have asked God for at least 30.  ::smile::
There is so much here to be thankful for and enjoy. I know that God has so much more for us to do in the future here, in fact He has said so, so bring it on I say.  ::nodding:: I will be in heaven for eternity, so I am happy to stay here for as long as I can (without being a burden to my family).

I guess God just does not want me home yet !

But I just can not figure out how I can help  ?  Since I am so slow and dumb.
There must be some question I need to  ask to help some one ?  And I just can not figure it out yet ?  Maybe it is just  wrong time the people I need to help just are not here yet.
So maybe you all can help me and   post things here and there that a person who is not saved  may be able to understand  ?  And make them think  more and not keep denying the fact that there is only one GOD!
Any thing at all will help !  Thanks

( One other thing for me !)
My writing here is not that great !  But I am even worse at speaking !
I am always confusing my husband when I talk to him, so I just can not speak to people on salvation much, I sure do not want to confuse  them.

So I am hoping some one some were will get some help, at least a start!

grams you have a husband and children and grandchildren who I am sure all love you and want you around.  Pray for people, that's what you can do. I believe that most Christian intercession is done by older women. In the UK there have been words given that the UK will be saved through its praying women. Exciting.  ::clappingoverhead::

Thank you very much!

I never thought of that !  And prayers are always good................

You grew up in a Catholic church and were never taught that Jesus died for your sins? In every Mass it is made quite clear that Christ died for our sins. It is just about all my priest ever talks about. I just don't see how you could have grown up in a Catholic church and never understood this considering that every Mass is conducted with Christ's death, burial and resurrection at the very heart of it.

I just don't get how you could have missed that. Were you sleeping through Mass?

The assurance of salvation in the Catholic church isn't that simple, like it is in many protestant churches.   In many protestant churches its as simple as believing in Jesus as your lord and savior, nothing more needed.

That how we are saved yes. After that we walk with Him for the rest of our lives.

I guess things were different in my time !
We were never told to use a bible ............................. !
Big mistake!.........
We had to go to confession..............

It all adds up !
If I died before I got to the confessional , I was going to hell.
I had to save myself.
I had to do so many prayers..
Times were so different.
I wonder if I will see my parents.   If they were brought up like this ?

The church was into the prayer book and the rosary!

Alan

I believe at one time in my piety that I was far to eager to get to Heaven, but since we are called to do good works here on earth I have since adopted a desire to live out a full and (hopefully) fruitful life for Christ. That said, I'd like to live a very long life, but I certainly do not want to be a victim of modern science that prolongs my life without the quality of life.

Jaime

I am 61 and if I had thought I was going to live THAT long, I woulda taken better care of myself! If I ignore the a hes and pains, I still think of myself as about 30 until I glance at a mirror.

Not ALL Catholic churches are the same.

Within an 8 mile drive of me is one that has a priest who "preaches" incessantly about the wrongs of abortion. That is all the parishioners remember of those services.

Within a 3 mile drive of me is one that I had the experience of attending a young boys 1st Holy Communion over mother's day weekend.

I wish I knew how to attache a picture of something scanned here because the program that was handed out for this event cover was somewhat disconcerting at best...

In big bold letters it proclaims " The way to salvation is through Holy Communion."

Yes, the priest did go through the meaning of the bread and wine as he was telling everyone about the Last Supper and what Jesus said.

But never once was it emphasized that it is Jesus who saves.

And the bulletin would have all who read it believe it was the elements of communion that did.

So........ all Catholic churches are not alike in their teachings or preachings...

and I might add not all protestant ones are either.

Not when there is a Baptist church within a 10 mile drive whose preacher tells his congregation that if they do not attend church they are not saved.

Jaime

I grew up in a protestant church that believed all other Christian "tribes" other than ours was destined to hell as un-believers. People can get screwed up in any denomination catholic or protestant.

ALL Catholic churches are alike in how they are supposed to conduct Mass. If a person just went to Mass to participate in the Holy Sacrament there is no way a person could possibly not understand that Christ died for our sins and that is why we are saved. The bread and the wine are explained in great detail in EVERY Mass.

Priests in the Catholic churches all read from the same book. Maybe they didn't long ago, I don't know. I do know that they do now, however.

A person who didn't get the Gospel message by attending Mass regularly just wasn't paying attention or was being sorely mislead totally by someone outside of the Mass service itself. Or slept through the Blessed Sacrament or ignored the words spoken by the priest every time.

The OP didn't attend Mass very often or Mass was not conducted correctly or was mislead outside of church doctrine. There is no other explanation for missing Christ's death as the center of Catholic Church doctrine.

How can someone attend Mass and just totally not get what it's all about?

Holy Communion is not what saves you. No one in my Catholic church ever got that impression. It is Christ's death, burial and resurrection that we participate in during the Holy Sacrament. It is the blood of Christ that saves us. I never got any impression that isn't true during Mass. Ever.

Alan

Around here, the ethnic blend has been predominately catholic. I have an Italian friend that actually stepped away from the Catholic Church and claims to have found Jesus Christ. His father just passes away and in order to keep peace with the rest of the rather large family, he allowed the procession to be carried out at the Catholic Church, but when he heard the priest discuss purgatory and that his father was residing in that place to have his sins washed away, he was so angry he wanted to stand up and shout out the lie he had just listened to.  He said to me "Jesus died for our sins, that debt is paid in full, what the Catholic Church teaches is error based on tradition, not deception".

grams

OK !

May I tell you some thing else ?

Well, I am going to any way !

Mass in my day , was always in Latin !

I went to a Polish Church and the rest of the service was in Polish.
So how do the young  who do not understand these grow  in Gods word ?

I did not get to understand any thing till my 50's .  When we went to a bible church and I was in shock seeing a bible being used .

Yes I know the C. Church has now changed.   But why would I go back
when I am learning so much in this church ?
