Considering the overpopulation of the Earth and the present deteriorating state of nations and the environment worldwide, I think t is completely irresponsible and self-serving for married couples to have any children.  They're not taking into account anything but their own selfish desires to have offspring, regardless of the fact that the Earth is already overpopulated.  Not to mention the fact that it's becoming increasingly more difficult for people to find decent employment, etc.; married people simply take it for granted that everything will work out for the best if they put the necessary effort in to raising their children properly.  When reality sets in, and their children become very expensive, and in cases, uncontrollable, and belligerent, then they begin asking themselves the questions they should have asked prior to the very thought of having children.

My wife and I refuse to bring any children into this world, for one reason above all others.  The word is rotten, it stinks, and had I had an option, I would rather have chosen not to be born, rather than be born into a world full of corruption and stupidity, and overpopulation; not to mention the thought of a Supreme Being who will damn you for all of your mistakes.  As if life in this bitch of a world isn't enough we'll have to put up with a God that will make our lives in the next world even more insufferable if you're not one of the chosen ones.  Think of it.  One world of untold suffering and aggravation and misery and then we step into the next world where God will make things even more insufferable for us--unless we succumb to one belief and hope.

God supposedly is a God of mercy and compassion and forgiveness.  If His Grace is powerful enough then there is the chance that I won't have to answer for my mistakes, if I've fully accepted Christ's sacrifice as having washed away those transgressions, which I regret as much as I possibly can.  But at the same time, I refuse to bring another being into this world so that being can share this same impossible situation and choice.  I do not thank God for giving me life.  I never will!  He should have kept the spirit of life and breathed it into some other unsuspecting suckling fresh out of the womb.  When I was a child I enjoyed life.  When I became an adult I completely regretted the fact that I was born.

You parents bringing more people into this world are completely self-serving and irresponsible!  Or do you think you can convince me that you're not?  How can you be sure that the child you bring in to this rotten corrupt world will not turn around and curse you for bringing them in to this world?  Like I curse mine!

Your gratuitous assertion that the world or even this nation is overpopulated is incorrect.

80% of America's population lives within 100 miles of the two coasts it sits between. The rest is fairly empty.

Nevertheless

SoylentGreen, I agree with you on one point. You should never father children.

Its your decision not to have any children, but actually some would say that it is you who are selfish, for not wanting to share your life with a child and to want all the money, time and attention for yourself.
I have three adult children, and God is using them in many ways for His glory. I have never once regretted having any of them and they are now beginning the next generation.

You sound like a very bitter unhappy and angry person. Many have had bad things happen in their lives(been there done that worn the T-shirt), but they dont let it ruin their lives or make them bitter. They choose to forgive and let it go. You have decided to let things your life, that's your choice. God can and will heal and restore you if you are willing to let Him, and if you are willing to obey Him and forgive those who hurt you.

amen!

An angry spirit and a bitter root do not a good parent make.

Wish you well though, OP.

This is not at all true.

Wow.  You have a very twisted view of God.  He loves the world and His salvation is for whosoever will.  He loves mankind so much that He gave His Son as an atonement.  Why twist that to the ugly point of "unless we succumb"?  Why NOT embrace Christ?  He keeps us from suffering, and we did NOTHING to deserve it!

Wow.  Again...odd stuff from someone who claims they are a Christian.

Soylent -answer me this:  Is it more irresponsible to raise children in this world or to disobey God who said to ALL OF US "be fruitful and multiply?"
