Can Facebook contribute to a possible break up of a Christian relationship

Nevertheless

Of course. So can bars, grocery stores, libraries, church events, parks . . .

Anywhere people meet provides an opportunity for things to happen that lead to a breakup.

Yes, and other similar sites. I believe facebook and similar are cited in many marriages ending now.
However its not the site itself that does it, its what people use the site for.

It is like many things in this life, it can be used as a tool evil, and I am sure, that it is within itself, a great temptation to our flesh.  We are warned by Peter to flee fleshly lust, that wars against the soul.  I would say that one must be wise, and rule his spirit, in all that he/she does~ to not allow our hearts to be tempted.  I really believe that it is much up to the person on how they themselves are effected by such things.  As for myself, I use it very little, because much on there is nothing more than foolish talking, and could easy be use to keep us from using our time wisely.  We are to redeem our time because the days are evil, time is short.

To your question I would say~of course it could, but it does not have to.  Adorning yourself could, yet, I am thankful that my wife takes time to look attractive and presentable, the best she can, yet she does so within moderation.  Men going alone on hunting trips with their buddies could be a great temptation, and has been use to make time for some other women, yet there is nothing wrong with men going hunting without their wives, many such things.

Dear saint, some things in life are a necessity, some are not, Facebook being one of them, at least it so for now, one day that will change, I am sure, specially for those that are in business for themselves.  I am against more for the time that it robs us of, and its foolishness that is on it.

Like any other tool, its value depends on how it is used. One can waste time with anything. I have a one strike and you're out rule with Facebook. Anyone who posts something nasty is unfriended immediately. My friends regularly post scripture and talk about God's blessings in their lives. I am an admin for our church's page which we use to post sermon outlines, event reminders, and last minute announcements. I keep in touch with friends from my childhood, family members that live far away, and friends on the mission field. Yes, I waste some time on it, as I do on this forum, but overall, Facebook is a blessing in my life.

I beleive people like you would use it the way that things of that nature can should be used.  I am on Facebook, but used it very seldom, my grandson set it up, because he thought that I needed it.  There you go.

My wife keeps up with family and friends pictures and such. I haven't had any experience with. My wife counsels some of the teenage girls at her school that seem to get into the bullying aspects of Facebook useage, etc. I don't ever hear much about the boys having that problem, but the teenage girls sure seem to.

Facebook is neutral. It won't, by itself, break up an otherwise healthy relationship.

The same person who might use Facebook inappropriately will also use Google, and even online forums like this, in much the same way.

I have found Facebook to be a great way o keep in touch with a wide circle of people. We are looking at getting rid of our church website and going with a Facebook page only instead.
