Jacob Ben Avraham

Shalom from Messianic rabbi Jacob Ben Avraham,  I am from Houston, Texas, a Torah teacher and a teacher of basic Hebrew,  I enjoy writing, and have written my first e-book,  I am here to share ideas with all who are interested in reading topics from a Messianic Jewish viewpoint.  I am of Ashkenazi origin (Germany and East Europe) from Father's side and Turkish-Armenian from mother's side.  I was adopted into a Lutheran family, but later, found out about my Jewish roots and returned to the roots of the faith, but never denying Yeshua (Jesus) as LORD and Savior, I was wondering if this forum can add a "Messianic Jewish" section to the forum which shows various religious groups.  Perhaps my first post will be "What is Messianic Judaism?" I think that would be interesting.  Thanks for having me...............Rabbi Jacob

Welcome,

Well we have only two (including you) who are messianic Jews.

We like the views from all denominations included in discussions of theology and general matters. I find the Jewish perspective particularly interesting.

But we can look into the matter.

Shalom Rabbi!

It is good to have another Messianic here.  Actually I suspect there may be a couple of others here but are not bold enough to come right out and say so.

Wouldn't a Messianic section be inviting more divisiveness in the Body of Christ?   Didn't Paul say that there is neither Jew nor Gentile in the body of Christ as there is One New Man in Christ?

I appreciated the ministry of Zola Levitt (now deceased).   He called himself a Hebrew Christian.   He was a Baptist.   I heard him teach at a Baptist church.   His closest theological associate was a Baptist.   He would wear the garb when he taught the symbolism of the feasts and rituals.   He always pointed to Christ and how He fulfilled these things.

I think that all posters here should be allowed to expressed their views as long as they do not distort who Christ is or what He accomplished on the cross.   There are many denominational distinctions here, but most denominations are in agreement that the New Covenant is not a distinctive covenant with Israel.   That's the divider.   I don't know what you believe in that regard as you've not had an opportunity to express that.   Also, if you are going to have a Jewish emphasis I hope you do acknowledge that Jews have a broad range of beliefs.   Non-Jews typically have little knowledge of Judaism and tend to believe that Jews are separated by one thing:  Do they believe that Jesus was Messiah or not.    Many Jews believe that Israel is Messiah and that Zionism is anti-Messianic.

I know who they are.   I don't think they're in hiding.

Yes, there are many Jews who do believe that Yeshua is the Messiah, many do not want to admit it nor reveal it because they fear they will be ousted by their families and synagogues, We believe that the New Covenant (New Testament) is the confirmation and completion of the old, since the Old Testament prophesied that the Messiah would come, and in the New, the Messiah "came" and gave his life for us all.

SO, where could I post my biblical fiction stories from my book "God Tales" ?

I have a Hanukkah poem, a bit humorous, I'd like to post it.

Nevertheless

It sounds like those might fit best in the Artists/Writers Corner or Devotionals.

And welcome!
