Is Bachata okay for a Christian to dance to?

I enjoy Salsa dancing every Friday at a local place nearby.  It's fun and fast paced.  Soon after the Salsa songs come the Bachata ones (which are slower paced and have much more sensual dancing).  Sometimes they can be fast-paced and have a sexy beat to them as well.  Anyways, I've been dancing at this local place for a month. Now my question is as follows: would dancing sensually but having no lustful thoughts be considered sinful?  By "sensual", I mean being very close to the woman in a closed danced position, having your hand on her hips and they move with the beat of the music with her back towards you, etc.  These are the kinds of things I see in Bachata, but it's sensual without being explicit like what one would see in a nightclub.

Quit lying to yourself.  You know the answer.

Lying to myself?  I asked a question.  Plus, Bachata is not always sensual; it depends on how it's danced.

You asked a question you already know the answer to.  You just want someone to tell you its ok to clear your conscience.

Now you say it is not always sensual.   Which you did not say before.   Your looking for approval though you know you shouldn't get it.

Do what you want.   Just don't try and fool yourself.

I don't need my conscience cleared.  I was looking for advice and responses from others.  However, it's very clear that you're less interested in advice, and more interested in trying to send me on a guilt trip for something you act like I know the answer to.  If I knew whether or not it was okay for a Christian to dance bachata, I wouldn't be asking in the first place.

If you don't need your conscience cleared, what are you asking for?

If you had a clear conscience you would not be asking.

Again, you already know the answer.   But do what you want anyway.  That is what men do.

Just quit lying to yourself.

The problem here seems to be that because I'm asking, you think I feel guilty, which is your implied definition of a conscience.   I don't feel guilty at all.  A person can ask a question to see what others think and to make sure they are not stepping out of line, and that is what I am doing. I also like pleasing God, so while I do enjoy dancing, I just want to make sure I am careful not to stumble, which I why I am asking about Bachata in the first place.

This isn't a question asking, "Should Christians watch porn?", which has a very obvious answer.  This is a question about a dance that can or cannot be seen as controversial. You clearly have no interest in giving good advice, especially with your "But do what you want anyway.  That is what men do" statement, which implies your true intentions: to send someone on a guilt trip and express your thoughts on how men are all the same.  For that, I am no longer reading your messages until you respond back more appropriately. Have a nice day.

I gave you good advice, you just didn't like it.

If you don't want others advice, why ask?    Your upset because you disagree with the advice I gave.  Which means you already know what advice you are going to take.  One that agrees with you.

I'm sure someone here will tell you just what you want to hear.  Then you can go and dance to your hearts content.

I would probably be fine dancing with girls i thought were ugly and large.

But an attractive one, probably not.

If there are no lustful thoughts, or obvious physical reactions, it may indeed be okay.  That said, for myself, I don't think I could avoid the sin that might arise.  rofl
My wife would never allow it anyway, and perhaps that answers the question right there:  if it is not innocent enough for one to do it with his wife's blessing, it may not be innocent enough for one that is single.
There is good reason those nuns used to walk around dances with rulers, first to measure the distance between young couples, secondly to wack the sin right out of those found in violation.
