I don't want to be in debt, but how do I buy a house? Or a car?

Hey,

I just read Steve's article about Christians who are dealing with financial struggles.  He is right.  Many Christians today are is serious trouble because they don't know how to control their spending.

They spend more than they make, and then pay gobs of interest.  

It's sad that many Chrsitians get so caught up in materialism that the only thing that satisfies it is instant gratification and debt.

Here's my question.  WHen you want something new - say a new digital camera - do you save for it, or put it on the credit card?

No, seriously, we put everything on the card to get frequent flyer miles. But we pay it off every month.
House buying is an investment generally. While it is a debt, technically, it really is a way of saving money.
Cars are money pits. I envy Manhattanites! Ironically, instead, I drive 100 miles a day round trip.
