The Lord's Prayer is a pattern for prayer.  If the Son of God needed to pray; how much more, do we need to wait upon God; True prayer is the result of one's personal relationship with the father.  In prayer we seek to be involved whit the father, not in control are manipulate God the father. The true aim of prayer is the community of believers and the will of God.  We wait upon God in prayer for guidance and instruction, Ps. 25:5. Through prayer we can transcend this world and meet God who is beyond the experience of what can be seen or touched. We move up into the Glory of God and put into action the ministry of people.
To pray thy will be done is to pray for the power to face and conquer your trails, Matt. 6:10. Effective prayer is the result of a life given up to the will of God there is also power to fulfill his holy desire. Freedom is by the discipline of the word and commitment in performing the will of God. We know the will of God through his word, Col. 1:9-10. God is transforming my will by his word. Full surrender to the will of God is the secret of all spiritual blessing.
Matt 6:11" give us this day our daily bread" is a petition dealing with physical need. God is a God of love who desires to grant us what we need. If we are to receive the rich resources of heaven, it will be through much faith and patience, Heb.6:12. After Abraham had patiently endured, he obtained the promise, Heb.6:15. By the prayer of faith, according to the word of God we can persevere until the fulfillment of what we ask in prayer comes to pass.
" Matt. 6:12 for-give us our debts, as we forgive our debtors". If we will not forgive others, we cannot expect God to forgive us. He who is unforgiving has cut himself off from God. There can be no love for God without love for others. When we forgive others, we can than receive the mercy of God. Human forgiveness must be has unending has divine love, Matt 18:21-22. The path that leads to the highest blessing and fullest communion with God is the path of unselfish love to others.
Matt. 6:13 "lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil ". Testing can be a direct call from God, Deut. 8:2.  The purpose of testing is to humble oneself and to prove what is in the heart. The trial is the testimony that reveals the truth about one's self and ones relationship with God. The trying of your faith works patience. Trails are not to be avoided they perfect us, James 1:2-4. Through the trials we experience growth and change, has we yield ourselves to the hand of God, molding us into the image of Jesus.
" Matt. 6:13  For thine is the kingdom, and the power and glory, forever, Amen". The ultimate purpose of God is to bring praise and glory to his name, Eph. 1:6-14.  The Salvation of all who call upon the name Jesus is the ultimate praise and glory of God, v11-12. To hear the word and believe receiving the Holy Spirit, who is the glory of God; God will manifest his glory in our lives, if we yield ourselves in obedience and faithfulness to the word of truth. Only then will the Power of love forever rule in our hearts.

One of the most important aspects of the Lord's Prayer for me is that over half of the prayer is in honor and praise of God.  As one Hindu said a long time ago, the prayers of too many Christians sound like letters to Santa Clause...."gimme, gimme, gimme, thank you, amen"
