If you had a vote in the AP poll, what would your top ten look like?  Here is mine:

1.  USC
2.  Texas
3.  Penn State
4.  LSU
5.  Ohio State
6.  Notre Dame
7.  Miami
8.  Virginia Tech
9.  TCU
10.  Auburn

Having LSU nuts among my friends -- I'm listening to LSU & Arkansas in Death Valley right now --

I know LSU would be on my list.

That's as far as I've gotten so far...

Having a master's from Arkansas, well, forget the top ten.  Wooo, pig, sooie!  :;):

Spurly,

Why do you have Penn State listed above LSU?  I know that all big 10 fans are in amazement that Joe Pa finally won the conference and a BCS bowl game but what games or game did they show that they were worthy of being the number 3 team ahead of an LSU team that only lost one game during the aftermath of a hurricane, where the players spent more time participating in relief efforts and less time in practice.

Weeble

Oh and here is my list:

1. Texas
2. USC
3. LSU
4. Virginia Tech
5. Penn State
6. Oregon
7. UCLA
8. Ohio State
9. Notre Dame
10. Auburn

Bon Voyage

Weeble,

Because the Big Ten is the best football conference out there.

Better than the American Calvinists Conference or the Big Least, or the Southern Episcopal Conference, or the Big Oh Well.

LSU barely beat Arkansas, by 2, when Arkansas missed 2 field goals.  They also barely beat Auburn, who missed FIVE - yes, FIVE - field goals in the game.  Not to mention a home loss to a bad 5-6 Tennessee team (hurricane or not, that's a bad loss).  I still think Auburn is the best team in the SEC west.

LSU will drop next week after they lose to Georgia tomorrow.

I would vote Penn State ahead of LSU.  I'm think maybe Va Tech - despite a bad performance against Miami - should still be #3, then PSU #4.

And UCLA and Notre Dame are overrated.

oh, and USC will 3-peat.  Mack Brown always manages to lose a big game every year.  Since he finally beat Oklahoma this year, it will either be tomorrow (unlikely) or against USC (assuming they beat UCLA - which I am assuming).

Skip

I would decline to vote -- unless the vote was for a proposed playoff system to replace the BCS (Bungling "Championship" Sellout).

It appears, for some strange reason, that Duke isn't in anyone's list.  Hmmm.

Bon Voyage

Duke didn't have a Division 1A win, so they could be a finalist in the worst of the year bowl.

Mere Nick

I don't think they need a bowl game to figure out that Duke football is still in the middle of a multi-decade rebuilding program.

Well USC barley beat Notre Dame, and Fresno State so should they drop in the polls as well?

As for the Missed Field Goals by Auburn if you remember last year they missed one that would have sent the game to over time and the ref called jumping onto another player that Instant Replay would have shown other wise, and Auburn got another chance and went on to go undefeated.  There is an awful lot of luck involved in Football.

Jerry be loyal to the Big 11 I mean the Big Ten plus one and I will join Old Dad watching the mules fight over the turnip. :D

Weeble,

Looks like your new #3 is Penn State.
