James Rondon

Patricia...

I did not know!

I thank God for your son's progress... And will be lifting him up in prayer now that I do know of his condition.

May God be with you, your family, and with Christopher,

James Rondon

Thanks for the update.  Continuing to pray.

I will keep Christopher in my prayers.  Please keep us posted on this.  God bless you and your precious child.  Love, Shorty

Thanks to all of you for prayers concerning my son, Christopher.

He has been diagnosed with a very rare condition that is, for lack of a better name, called benign Hodgkin lympoma. He has florid follicular hyperplasia with dramatic transformation of the germinal centers ... usually a dead-ringer for Hodgkins, but the conclusive tests show no malignancy. Therefore, he is an outpatient of the oncology clinic at Children's Hospital. Once a month they test his blood. If his LDH level exceeds 800 they will remove another lymph node. This health plan will continue until he is well into his 20's.

Meanwhile, he is on a VERY strict nutritional diet to boost his immune system along with vitamin and food supplements, acupuncture, Chinese herbs, chiropractic and most important ... prayer. These things are helping. The doctors were thrilled with his last appointment. The swelling in his neck had decreased (For a year and half it had only increased) from the previous month, however his blood showed no improvement. We are looking forward to even better results next month.

His oncologist told us that this is her first case of benign lymphoma and that most oncologists have only had one or two in their careers. The good news is that none of her colleagues have ever had a patient to develop lymphoma while under their care in pediatrics.

We do not take your prayers and good thoughts for our son lightly, and we cannot thank you enough. But if you plan to come to San Diego just send me a PM and we will be glad to thank you personally!

God bless you and keep you.

Son of a Preacher Man

Amen to what James said.

I too will be praying for Christopher and your family.

Patricia:
A diagnosis is a good stepping stone to understanding the problem, thank God it is benign and that the history of this condition does not seem to lead into malignancy. Still, I understand you are concerned, and I pray that God will bless Christopher with a complete recovery!

I'm so happy for his "handle-able" diagnosis! :thumbs-up:
