The President did a terrific job last night laying out the details of our Iraq strategy and I especially liked his statement that our troops will return on success.  As we are successful in Iraq and meet the objectives of the mission - a free and stable Iraq - more troops will return home.  We will probably have a presence in Iraq to help fight terrorism for some time to come - and that is a good thing as well.

Hopefully the democrats will come on board with this - it is the best possible strategy.

It is unfortunate and sad, that the democrats have put all their stock in our failure.  By using failure as an effort to gain power they will wind up losing in the long run.  Have you noticed how their arguments have changed?  First it was the horrible violence in Iraq...with the violence decreasing, it is the lack of political reconciliation...withe the moderates working together and reconcilliation ongoing, it is now the integrity of the Commanding General they call into question.  They have no shame.  The fact is, the tide is turning in Iraq, and we are winning.  Even with the latest assisination, AQI is on the run...all they did was increase the Sunni sentiment against them.  We are winning and that scare the heck out of the democrats, because so they placed so much stake in our failure.

Let that be a lesson.  Don't play games with our national security to further your own political power.  You may make some short term gains, but you will lose in the long run, because contray to what the liberal media spouts, America is strong and we do have the will to win.  And win we will.

I thought Bush gave a good speech.  As a democrat, I don't support the President's war in Iraq, but he did lay out his reasons for continuing the war.

What does your party affiliation have to do with whether or not you support AMERICA's war in Iraq?

I'm not sure it necessarily has anything to do with it.  I, however, am a democrat who also does not support the war in Iraq!
