I know it's early, but who is your odds on favorite to win the chase for the Nextel Cup?

marc

I don't understand the question.  Didn't they already have their Super Bowl back in Febuary, at Daytona?

spurly

That's a big race, but the bigger race is for the championship.  This year 12 drivers will qualify for the chase instead of ten.  It ought to be Ggggrrrreat!

spurly

So far the consensus of this board is that someone named Jeff will win the Cup.  We shall see as the season progresses.

Jeff and Jeff still sit at the top of the Nextel Cup points.  They have to be the odds on favorites to win the 2007 championship at this point.  It seems that this poll agrees.

Jeff Gordon got his third Bud Pole of the year for Saturday night's race at Phoenix.  Remember, it is a night race so be sure to set your TiVo for Sat. night and not Sunday afternoon.  You don't want to miss this race in the desert!

spurly

For those of you who missed it, I encourage you to watch the replay of the race later this week on the Speed Channel.  You won't be disappointed.  I won't mention who won here so as not to ruin your joy while watching the replay.

I just seem to get the impression not many are NASCAR fans here.
As soon as it was over Saturday night, I tried to log on to hooray for the winner, but my computer wouldn't let me.
It was a good race, though.
I used to go for generational names. But nowadays I go for the newer drivers. Too many people are fans of the winner, so I like to root for the ones who show potential but are newer. I like to watch them grow, I guess.

I still think it's dangerous to talk on a cell phone while driving a race car.

Yeah, and you see where that got Goose.  One little ejector seat accident, and bam!

By the way, since Jeff Gordon is an owner of the #48 car, he is the champion as well (even though he came in second in the standings).

Well, I myself am a Outlaw kart racer in Northern California and have been for about 4 1/2 years now. I think Deny Hamlin is going to impress many people this season. Hes very consistent and being a younger driver I think after getting a taste of running up front after last year he's bringing his A-game. I'm not really and huge fan of his, nor do I have negativity towards him, he's been making a quiet kind of statement lately. I'm a Junior fan, haha I know, I know, how could you cheer for a guy that had a wheel come off while leading a race, haha (last year). Who is everyone else es choice for the Sprint Champion, not even really your favorite driver, but who you feels bringing their A-game this season. Just wondering? love racing and talking to others about it.

Thanks,
Angelo
