Just watched this... it was a little long, but a really good movie. I'm surprised it didn't do better than it did in theaters.

I realize this topic is 2 months old, but i had to reply to it. I'm always glad to find people who really liked this movie. I saw it the first day it was released in theaters & fell in love with it. Yes, it's a little long but I was perfectly content with that. Baz Luhrman is a wonderful film maker. No one makes movies like "Australia" anymore...that "Gone With the Wind" type film. I was surprised that it didn't do as well in theaters, too. But for some reason a lot of people now don't go for movies that are more than an hour & a half-two hours long. Nicole Kidman & Hugh Jackman had such great chemistry though. I'd love to see them in another film together.

I didn't care for the movie that much.  I was expecting more about Australia's history, I suppose ... I dunno.  I'm just not a big Nicole Kidman fan.  I just think there was a lot more they could have done with the plot line if they'd veered away from the love story aspect.

Just my two cents ... probably not worth much in today's economy  ::smile::
