has any one here stuggled with infertility?

Yes we suffered from infertility.
I had PCOS and endometriosis and was told as a young woman that it was highly unlikely I would be able to have kids. As I was young at the time it didn't bother me that much as i wasn't at the stage of planning a family. So when I got pregnant a couple of years later, it was a shock but we were very happy.
Sadly I assumed that having had one baby unassisted it would be easy to have another, but it took 2 years of fertility treatment before we got pregnant again. We were ready for IUI and I got pregnant just before we started it.
It was one of the most difficult times in my life. Everyone seemed to be pregnant except me and the most unsuitable people seemed to be having babies by the dozen, when we couldn't. God blessed us with 2 wonderful daughters and everything that happened has been worth it but it was just so hard at the time.
I had to undergo a hysterectomy a few years ago and that was hard too. I had always wanted 4 children and I admit I felt cheated when my health and my body wouldn't allow it. However now I am 3 years down the track and I am glad I talked with God and got over those feelings (even though they still come back at times). Both our daughters are Dyslexic and one has Type 1 Diabetes and ADHD and I think God was looking out for me as he knew I wouldn't cope with 2 more children on top of the 2 we already have with special needs.

Hang in there and take care of yourself. xxxxx

Thank you for the post they were both very helpful. I have started a yahoo group to try and get some type of support group going. my husband thinks it would help and is a good way to spend my time. I have two groups now on for infertility in marriage and another for Bibical marriage. As well as a personal blog. Grace centered has been a great support and help though and it does mean a lot to me.

Yes, I suffer from infertility every day. I have enndomitriosis, and am now entering periomenopause. We went through one IVF cycle, only to find out that the cell walls of my eggs are very weak--at age 32, I was too "old." We never got to implant an embryo. Now we are waiting on two lists for someone else's embryos (that are left over after they have created their family.) I just pray they become available, that we can afford it, and that it works--all before I need a hysterectomy. Having the late start we did, we planned on having one attempt (I was also down to one ovary by the time we attempted, so knew one shot would be the best we could hope for), and then adopting. So we went right into an adoption (after a short mourning period for the children I would never have.) We now have a beautiful son from Guatemala, but the adoption was so expensive I don't know how we will adopt again (which is my fervent wish, and I believe God-driven.)

If any of you are capable of carrying an infant, may I suggest researching embryo donation as an option? You would give those babies a chance at life, or a chance to go to God if the procedure does not work. We are on a list with our doctor, and one at Reprotech (a cryobank).

Ah yes...was diagnosed with Mayers Rokitansky Kuster-Hauser Syndrom...that's a mouthful huh!  In short, no uterus.  Freaked me out at 19 years old...had never heard of it, or imagined it even possible.  I dealt with a lot of depression and could never find a way to answer the question "why me?".  I was engaged to be married and was blessed with a supportive family, fiancee and his family too.  We were married the following summer.  2 years later we applied to be on a private adoption agency's list...and were blessed to years later with a healthy baby boy (just turned 4 years old 2 weeks ago!  How time flies!)  17 months after he was born, we were blessed with our "surprise"...God really dropped a baby in our lap!  We hadn't applied for another adoption, but through friends, we were put in touch with a birthmom!  Another baby boy! (he will be 3 this fall!)

Every day I struggle to have joy in all circumstances.  Lately "everyone" is pregnant...including 2 of my sisters.  I am so sincerely happy for them, but at the same time I'm insanely jealous and grieve the "loss" I felt at the first diagnosis 9 years ago.  I can now say that it's not the end result I grieve...it's the process, to which I am sure so many pregnant women will tell me I am crazy!

Like a previous poster said, it's hard to remember that in all things, God is sovereign.  He has a plan for each of us, and seeing "through the storm" is so difficult.  There are so many different ways to "have a baby".  It is my belief that God will carry each of us through to where He wants us to be.  At the "end", it is my desire to look back and see God's hand guiding every step of the way!  If you'd like details on how I can already see that...I'd gladly share more about some unique ways God showed himself faithful to me...just ask!

Many prayers for peace and understanding as you face each day.
Kim.

Yes, we had three cycles of IUI and one IVF which was abandoned half way through as the doctor told t it was pointlesss continuing.

There were problems on both dh and my side. I worked as a childrens nanny and found it unbearably hard.

We decided to adopt Jan o4 and finally our dd came to live with us in April 08 aged 8 months.

It still affects me everyday at the moment my sister is pg with her third child and that is difficult for me, I know it will get worse, but after a few months of the child being born I will feel okay again.

I realised one day that I have come to terms with it, but I will never get over it and that the two are different things altogether. I also learnt that is it okay to grieve for the child we could not have naturally, and I love our dd to bits.

The voice of hope by Lara Martin was great inspiration to me.

If you ever want to vent feel free to drop me a pm.

We had four healthy babies -- lost one to drowning along the way -- of course that was a time of great horror but we had her and loved her for a year, thank God for that --

I would have liked a few more, but they were always considered at least three weeks overdue, by the doctors' schedules, and they kept getting bigger... So hubby and I decided he'd have a vasectomy, since it was a much smaller surgery for him than for me.  Very brave of him, I thought.

Where infertility issues come in for me is, it turned out that our eldest, our surviving daughter, has PCOS.  She is married to a fantastic guy, and they'd probably like to have a baby someday, but they married knowing it would not be likely, with her health issues.

One thing I try to impress on my daughter -- rarely, when such discussions arise, I', not nagging, I promise! -- One thing I try to discuss with her is, that she could do some of the basic reasonable things for her condition, and her general health might improve, and she might even find herself pregnant one day -- without the infertility treatments, even.

She hates so badly to take meds, however, she won't even talk to her doctor about the insulin-related meds and the simple hormones like a basic birth control pill to help her have a regular period.

*Sigh*

I have two grandchildren, the middle son is married -- I know what it is to be a Grandma and it's really not that making me bring the matter up with my girl.  It's because she is my baby and I want her to take the best care of her health that she can, you know?

But, one day, if they are ready, a baby would be a nice thing, too.  ::baby::

There were times during my kids teenage years that I wish I would have been.
