Ok, I've put together a toolbar for Grace Centered Forum and Website visitors. It's a very helpful toolbar in that it allows you to easily see recent posts from this forum when you're on other websites (like there's any need to be on another website ;)). It's live so you can see posts as they're made if you wish.

It's got a pop-up blocker, search tools, weather forcaster, can notify you when you have new emails, an online radio, and other stuff for those of you who like bells and whistles. It installs very quickly, adds itself to your browser automatically and doesn't interfere with any other programs or features on your computer. And it's completely free!

So if you're willing to help us test this first version please go to http://gracecenteredmessageforums.ourtoolbar.com and download the toolbar (for free). Then post your feedback on it on this thread.

Thanks!

Jaime

I just installed it and it is great! And easy to install. I recommend it to everyone.

We have an IT department and so this is not a personal computer.  Would this be a problem?

I guess to be sure you'd have to ask them but it doesn't interfere with anything else.

I don't want to risk losing the priviledge of not "social networking" while at work!

OK...it's installed...now I just have to close IE and start it up again to see it in the window...looks like it intalled OK...

Yep...seems to be working just fine...clicked on one of the threads and it took me right to it...no issues whatsoever.

JohnDB

how often is the refresh rate?

I clicked back in to see if the RSS Feed was the same as what was in the forums and the two do not seem to match.

hummmm...a bug to work out on my end or yawls?

No bug. It refreshes every 5 minutes.

JohnDB

for me...the feed isn't working.

I am seeing exactly the same listing as I was two hours ago...

and things have changed significantly since then.

Soooo...something is either wrong on my puter's end (a possibility this thing is rather old and slow) or on the program's end...

All was fine till someone long ago decided to break into my apartment and steal my laptop...I had a great fast one then...

Re: installing on a work computer --

If your IT department likes it, fine.  Let THEM preview it and approve of it.

My own IT department consists of a for-hire guy who comes in and doesn't do a whole lot, then leaves.  Even if he liked it, installing it would mean I was doing something besides zombie-like staring at my work screens all day, and people who understand even less than the IT guy would whine because I looked like I was having fun.

I'm using an old laptop at home and doubt I can support it without freezing up or slowing things down a lot.  Will consult my at-home IT guy, the spouse  ::smile::

The "Latest Forum Posts" should be working now. Is it working for you?

It's working perfectly for me. It has a two or three minute delay which is fine, especially if you're on another website. Anyone else?
