What does Satan want?

We cannot even begin to understand how end time events are going to unfold, unless we have a deep understanding of our adversary.   Understanding the heart of our adversary, goes a long way in establishing the true order of events, Why they are occuring, and What they arte being accepted AS, when they do occur.  Consider the following Scripture.....
QuoteIsaiah 14:12-14  How art thou fallen from heaven, O lucifer, son of the morning!  how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!  For thou hast said in thine heart I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the hights of the clouds; I will be like the most high.

There is something that Satan wants, that only the true believers in Christ  can give him.   He wants to be worshipped.  Remember what he offered Jesus, while he was in the wilderness?
QuoteMatthew 4:8 Again, the devil taketh him (Jesus) up into an exceedingly high mountian, and sheweth him ALL THE KINGDOMS OF THE WORLD, and the glory of them: And saith unto Him. "all these things will I give thee, If thou will fall down and worship me."

Satan wants to be worshipped.....not as "A" God but AS God.  there is a huge difference.  consider what is in his heart.

      1.  "I will sit upon the mount of the congregation".  Who is the congregation?  Is it made up of a group of heathen unbelievers?   Is Satan worried about a bunch of people who he already has in his "back pocket"?   He wants to be the "head" over the Body.  He wants to be the bridegroom, to a seduced bride.   He may Hate the bride, but  anything that is Christ's is what he is after.

      2.  " I will  resemble the most High".   Satan plans on coming in as an angel of Light, with great signs and lying wonders.  He will be a Christ impersonater.   The term "antichrist" not only means to come against christ, but also in the place of Christ.  A FALSE MESSIAH

The timing of His appearence will be crucial.  He would have to come on the scene at a time, most of the world would be for some reason expecting the return of the TRUE messiah.   We see this being played out at the climax of the ezekiel 38 war, and the events of the sixth seal.   The world is accepting the "wars and rumors of wars, that occur in the first half of Daniel's 70th week, as the end.   He will Justify his claim to being the messiah, by pointing to recent events that will occur just prior to his reign, and proclaim all prophetic scripture has been fulfilled.  He will promise to bring in His 1000 year reign.  He will make the same offer to the church, he made to Jesus, while in the wilderness.  Bow down and worship me, and I will give you all the kingdoms of the World.   Claiming to be Christ, he will  make the  now seduced virgin bride  co-rulers with him, Just as Jesus will, when He returns.

Satan comes to steal, Kill, and destroy.  His biggest weapons in his arsonal, will be destruction, deception, and twisting the truth of the Word of God.   Don't think it a strange thing that He will use the Very word of God to bring on results he desires.   He did it with Jesus quoting scripture to him while in the wilderness.   A servant is not above His master.

Satan most certainly uses scripture to deceive the people of God, however he always does this by rejecting the context and thereby making the word of God appear to by saying something different then what it is actually saying.  This is why I am so much against taking Rev 4 and making it the rapture of the church, this is the exact practice that satan uses, quote a scripture out of its context and place on that scripture a meaning that the context does not endorse.

Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

Here is a great example of what you are talking about.

refugepsa91

I see a whole lot of silly woman on this web site day after day after day

disobeying this scripture right here.

refugepsa91

And when you say something to them about it...they say...that doesnt mean that...

why do you think God has all of these woman pastors and woman preachers....

and I think

to my self

Satan most certainly uses scripture to deceive the people of God, however he always does this by rejecting the context and thereby making the word of God appear to by saying something different then what it is actually saying.

Greetings Saul,

I wholeheartedly agree with your premise.  One basic "rule' the Lord showed me concerning His word, is we are not to "assume tryuth". or even worse, draw conclusions based on assumed truth.

It is our own very nature we need to overcome, and to be disciplined enough to take the Lord at His word.   More often than not our Human nature gets in the way, wanting to establish "truths" that appease the flesh.   Because we have already convinced our own hearts of these "truths" if something other than this occurs, a sense of betrayal crops up in our hearts as if the Lord himself has betrayed us.  We must overcome this.

This is the danger I see concerning those that may embrace a pre trib rapture Doctrine.   Ones relationship with the Lord must be so much deeper than Just hoping in being  removed before anything bad happens.   I have personally felt this sense of betrayal, one not based on what the Lord has done, but a betrayal based on what I  had accepted as "truth".   it was my own lack of understanding that ultimately leads to this.

Having my mind "pre-programmed" to accept as absolute truth, these conclusions that were based entirely on assumed truth, was done so over many, many years.  To undo all of this "mess"  took wiping the slate clean, and  listening soley to the Holy Spirit.  Much easier said than done.
One must first realize the need to do this, before it can be done.   There are certian truths in the Word of God, that the Lord Himself wants to share with each and every one of us on a very Spiritual, personal level.   You will not get this by reading other mens "books" or embracing other mens Ideas.  There are ceritan truths in Gods word, that the only way one will accept them as TRUE, is if it is The Lord alone that shares it with them.   My eqarnest prayer is all come into this fullness.

At it again in more than one place I see. . . This is really good, considering it comes from someone who can't answer simple questions and takes scripture out of context time and again. . .  You accuse people of taking Revelation 4 out of context, but you actually do so with Matthew 24 time after time.  So you are either a hypocrite, or some of your views are flawed.  There is no third option.

If I have stated something false in the above post then point out what is false, if you cannot point out anything false in my post then what are you trying to do?

This question is too easy. He hasn't changed since he sinned in the beggining.

Isa 14:13
For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

Isa 14:14
I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

Then Paul clarifies that he hasn't change his heart

2 Thess 2:4
Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

And what are his plans for everyone that lives on the earth?

John 10:10
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:

And what did Jesus come to do

I am come that they might have life, and that they might have [it] more abundantly.

Satan is death and Jesus is life.

And as God said in the beggining, I set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. Choose life, that you and your seed may live.

Grace to all.

Here is a great example of what you are talking about.

Acts 2:
17 'In the last days,' God says,
'I will pour out my Spirit upon all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy.

The last I knew, a daughter was a woman, at least when she is grown.

John 20
17Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

I am quite sure Mary was a woman. And Jesus commissioned her to go and tell.
There are many many other examples.  Actually, what Paul was saying is that a WIFE was not to have dominion over her husband. He was speaking about married women, not women in general.

Woman are definitely given the Holy Spirit the same as men and can do anything a man can do with one exception, in the assembly, women are not to be in authority over men, that would mean that a woman can not be a Pastor of a mixed(men and women)group of christians.  Sorry gals but Paul even explained why it was to be that way.  For a christian woman to refuse to take authority over men in the assembly is an act of respect for God and His order of creation(that is what the bible teaches).

Apparently God did not know this rule, for there can be NO DOUBT that He put His anointing on women, such as Amie Simple Mcpherson, and Kathern Kulman.  Was He confused, and did not recognize them as women? Or is it that we just did not understand Paul?  Do pictures speak louder than words?

Hi brothers. I am very familiar with the passage in 1st Corinthians where Paul advices that women should keep silent in the church.
However, will you please read JUDGES 4 and 5 about Deborah, a prophetess appointed by God to lead Israel and deliver them from their oppressors. Please reply with an opinion.
Thank you.

BroBrent

I think Paul meant what he said. Why would he clarify it with the additional?

1ti 2:13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
1ti 2:14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

1ti 3:1 This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.
1ti 3:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

Tit 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
Tit 2:4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
Tit 2:5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

Thank you for your response. I am a female, and I was raised in the Word of God. What I am about to say, I do not say it to boast, but to better inform you of my situation.
I don't know if you have ever heard of Junior Bible Quiz or not, but in case you haven't it entails intense Bible study and scripture memorization. Every year I was involved in this program, even at the age of 7, God carried me to recieve first place in the state. The final year I was involved, He carried me to win first place at Nationals. Now, I do not believe that He did this "just because." I believe He had a purpose. Though He could have chosen to work His hand in a male, He chose me.
Now, currently at my church, we are in between pastors. In fact, the pastor who just retired had been with us for 29 years. And Because we are waiting on God, we have gone nearly 7 months without a shepherd.
I really feel like God is giving me a message to speak to the people, but because of this verse of which we speak, I hesitate.
