hi my Name is Sage im 17 and i love Heavy Metal now i know that isn't a typical genre for someone looking for Christ to like but it's who i am i love what Christianity has to offer and teach and i love the message Jesus and his disciples left for us but i haven't really taken the time to actively be part of the Christian faith and i was wondering if i could get some help doing so i know this forum that im posting in right now is mean't for people to introduce themselves but im really just trying to find some answers right now and as for my music like i mentioned earlier i really want that to be part of my life because it has helped me stay strong through the worst of times but i feel going into this i will have to get rid of my music but i really don't want that so i could use some advice and guidance please  ::smile::

HI and welcome here.

Its lovely that you are seeking God, and two things occurred to me as I read your posts.
One is that when we become Christians God only makes changes in our lives with our cooperation, and does it gradually.
Secondly, EVERYTHING that He does is for our good, and not because he is a killjoy.
The way He has dealt with things in my life over the years is that I have gradually stopped being interested in things that aren't good for me, and got more interested in things that are. Its not something that I have consciously thought about, it just happened as I followed Him.
If things become less appealing to you, then He will replace them with more of Himself and more good things in your life.

In the end you will look to Him for strength instead of music.

How about finding a friendly welcoming church to go to? It will be good for you to be with others of your age who are Christians and to get some good teaching and friendship. Also most churches run courses, such as the alpha course, which are for people like you who are seeking and wanting to know more.
