Am I Allowed?

Am I allowed to ask questions about myself or anything I need help with? In the Secular Music question thread I felt like people were trying to get after me and say that I'm never allowed to ask questions again. And I think it was in another thread, which the title escapes me, I got told never to ask questions about myself and asking opinions about what people think of me. Should I stop, or is it still okay? Please help me.

You can do what you want, but it will be good to not be offended when the opinions of others (that YOU asked for) don't match yours.

I reviewed the thread, and no one told you not to ask questions. If you want to ask, do so. If people want to answer the will, and if they don't, they won't. It's as simple as that.

I don't see why you can't ask questions about yourself or things you need help with--but it might be best to choose a thread like "General discussions" to do so.  When I first came to the board I thought  people were discussing things about Generals in that thread--lol---but quickly realized that is was a thread where you can post anything "in general". Go for it.

I'll try my hardest to not get mad at people when they voice their opinions. But when I said, "I'm going to like/listen to blah blah blah" that doesn't mean that I'm not valuing the opinions about whatever it is we're talking about. Can you guys please understand that.

He put the thread in General Discussion, but for some reason, it was moved to Theology.

That's not what people are doing though...you asked for opinions, people gave their opinions, you seem to think that a different one than the one you hold means you are being judged. It doesn't. People are just taking you at your word that you wanted to hear what others thought on a subject your mind is already made up on...

You're right. No point. But I'm going to try to have an open mind about y'all's opinions. I'm not perfect, but I'm sure trying.

My opinion is that is a good opinion. If it was required to be perfect to be here, We all are in trouble.

No need to force your mind open. Just express your opinion and others will theirs. There is no trap door for wrong answers or answers that some or all disagree with. You AIN'T gonna convince anyone of anything on here. I know, I've been here for about 8 years.

None of us are perfect JF, but you are allowed to have your own opinions and disagree with us, and we you, and we still luv ya.

Disagreeing with someone opinion is ok, that's for sure!

When you ask for what others think on something, it is best to not hope for the answer you came to, but think of it more as a fact finding mission. 

When you hear how others feel, think 'Hunh. Interesting...thanks!", but don't be threatened by it or feel like they are judging you if it is a conclusion different than the one you have come to.  They may be, (Judging you) but that's no their job, so when you remember that, its easier to just let things go.
