Can I make a small request, please? Could we have the thread that I started about Joel Osteen because I feel IMO that we've said all that can be said about him. Just a small request.

JF, that makes no sense, but if you are asking to have it locked, the answer is no. If you no longer want to participate in it, then don't, but there must be a compelling reason to lock a thread.

I know it sounds stupid. I just thought that since we've talked Joel to death, someone could lock it and we could move on like I thought it was going away before.

It doesn't sound stupid, it's just not the way it works here. As long as the rules are followed, anyone can talk about anything for as long as they want to. If it worked the way you are suggesting, baptism would have been a closed subject 10 years ago.
