Not to go off on a tangent, but are people not concerned about disease nowadays? When I hear about the number of sex partners people have - it's crazy. Not even talking about the moral part of the situation - just the pragmatic. It appears the threat of a life long or life ending disease isn't slowing down many people out there.

Bahaha...an excellent point.  Sort of indicates that there is a link between morality and pragmatism.  Most acts forbidden by our Creator just so happen to be acts that cause damage to ourselves, other individuals, and society.

Sin leads to death...literally.  Drug and alcohol abuse lead to an earlier demise than the addict would have otherwise met, for example.
