Some thing Wrong ?

I keep getting  postings on this  forum in the last month.........

Some thing is wrong , I do not understand!    I have to keep clicking  it off and it keeps

coming back..........  Saying  to  ?      ??   I do not  understand.

All of a sudden now   this forum is giving me problems  with this ?   WHY ?   Any ideas?

You'll need to be more specific Grams... I have no clue from your description of the problem, question marks and "clicking it off" tell me nothing... are you talking about the system sending you emails about a specific thread, board? please expand so I can tell you how to fix it or fix it myself if it is a fault in the system.

One of the things it is  saying   this  forum  is not  secure .............

I forgot the other   two things  it says......

and it asks me  if I want to leave this  sight  ?

Grams, I think that means Grace Centered Magazine is no longer a secured site. Easy target for hackers. Don't use a password here that you use for banking or any other sites.

Yes my husband  had some and when he passed away   I deleted  all.

He did not go to forums ?    Just  sports things  ........  so   he did not  know  .

Since he never went to one......  Thanks again.........

Our bank  he also   had a pass word and I did not want any part of this  since I am bad at
numbers and spelling.....    :)   old  lady also thing go........  wow.....

Okay, sorry for the delayed response yall, but I may be able to put everyone's fears to rest including any moderators that are unaware of the reason this occurs, this is not a major problem currently... the system is functioning nicely and in great shape except for a few minor bugs that will most likely get fixed automagically as soon as I get permission from the site owner (userid = "admin") to upgrade to a newer version of the core software, which should make several issues go away immediately...  but the site error messages and browser messages that possibly quite a large number of members, moderators, AND returning guests are experiencing are caused NOT by anything screwed up here on the website, it is being caused most likely from using the wrong url to navigate to the FORUM site itself, NOTING that the root domain of this site is a Wordpress@ blog that I am not an admin on or have control of., totally different and unforgiving type of critter.. previously the whole site was not secure, but after the recent crash of the forum section I fixed, I also enabled

"HTTP://www.site.com/christian_forums/* will give you errors (still functions depending on your browser settings, but it may not know that the site is secure yet and tells you about it or does something different than you intended) all you need to do is next time you log out, clear the cache and cookies from your browser and correct the url address in your bookmarked browser entry data or saved link and such and re-login (you may need to accept a new site certificate dialog question from your browser, no biggy, go ahead and permanently save it, saves much hassle and saves clicks later, its totally trustworthy to accept it but you may need to tick a checkbox to save it permanently depending on which browser it is and the settings of same)... something else that I noticed after doing this is that somewhere along the line the owner has installed a cool little app that checks the incoming requests for logins to both the Wordpress@ and SMF© forum site to be sure you aren't an automated bot, trust me it functions great, after the first time you encounter that and go through the multi-click verification dialogue there, it remembers your normal IP address for a predefined matter of time and it then becomes a one click only process to verify each time afterward until the time period runs out or if he's set it to remember forever, if your IP changes you will have do the multi-step verification again...

We may be back to a fully functional state very soon IF there are no corrupted data records in the database which is a distinct possibility... you must be aware of how old this site is, there are posts and data in here that go back as far as really early in 2006 friends... and I can tell you that since the first paid gig here from my end, there were only about 20,000 members registered... if I don't have issues with the database during the upgrade process, several important features that were previously broken aside from the quotes will get fixed too, such as the spelling checker and @mentions and I can reinstall the chess game, one of my favorite pass-times when there's nothing to fix or I'm not being paid (smile)...

btw @grams I'm old too, not that far behind ya, but having a ball just the same... as a freeby to the site owner I'm going make a few minor edits to his Forum Statistics Page that many frequent SMF users ignore most of the time, that screen and also the Who's Online screen most notably typically are ignored, but from an administrator point of view, I spend a great deal of time in both of those studying the information available to make decisions about what tweaks are necessary to expand on features or subject matter that users are most interested in and in some cases determine which page or topic I decided to "share" in the clickable social site tools... I encourage everyone to take a look at the one on my website (just click the banner in my signature here) to see a great deal more different types of metrics than are standard out-of-the-box defaults from SMF©, and much easier to locate from the menus than here, I'll have to ask him if its okay if make a minor tweak to his menus to provide an easy to locate link to both of those screens, it only takes a minute to do if I get the green light, I encourage all of yuns to pm "admin" if you want a really cool set of old and new features...



hmm, might need to work on the smileys too, seems to me I remember there was a much larger number of them available and definitely need to adjust sizes of em too...
