Dates of his birth, baptism and death

I would like to begin a series of articles concerning end time prophesy beginning with the following. I know about the dating method used in Luke 3:1, "In the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar," we can discuss that in my next post.

The correct chronology of Jesus aims to establish a timeline for other major historical events having occurred in the past, in His life-time, and for the future. The Christian gospels were primarily written as theological documents rather than historical chronicles, and their authors showed little interest in an absolute chronology of Jesus. However, it is possible to correlate Jewish and Greco-Roman documents with the New Testament accounts to estimate date ranges for the major events in Jesus life.

Two methods have been used to estimate the year of birth of Jesus, one is based on the accounts of his birth in the gospels, the other by working backwards from his stated age when he began preaching. Most scholars, on this basis, assume his date of birth to be in October between the 15th and 30th in the year 4 BC. Also, most scholars generally agree that Jesus was crucified on April 5th of 30 AD.

Luke 1:5 mentions the reign of Herod shortly before the birth of Jesus, but places the birth during the Census of Quirinius, ten years later, 4 BC, the year Herod died.

Another approach to estimating the year of Jesus birth works backwards from when Jesus began preaching, based on the statement in Luke 3:23. Let's begin with verse 22.
Luke 3:22-23, "And the Holy Ghost descended in bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased." Verse 23, "And Jesus himself began (his ministry) to be about thirty years of age."

After his genealogy is ended in Luke 3, we read in,
Luke 4:1, "And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan (where he was baptized), and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness." Here he fasted and was tempted by the devil for 40 days.

With this information we can categorically declare that He was born in October of 4 B.C., and at the age of thirty baptized by John in the river Jordon in October of 26 A.D. From the Jordon he was "led by the Spirit into the wilderness for forty days."

To balance out that 40 days in the wilderness we can add 40 days between Jesus resurrection and His ascension (Acts 1:3). Now we can properly calculate the total length of Jesus' earthly ministry from birth to death. From his birth in October of 4 B.C. to his baptism in October of 26 A.D., 30 years passed. To his crucifixion on April 5th of 30 A.D (Pentecost), His earthly ministry would have been exactly 3 ½ years. We can also add 40 days to the day of His ascension.

The above dates are my hub for determining most of my end time prophesy dates concerning the day of the Adam's fall to the return of Jesus Christ to established his Kingdom.

Is there anyone on this forum that believes through their own investigation that we are no more than 12 or 13 months away from the rapture of the church and the beginning of the tribulation? If so give me one or two of your thoughts as to why. Tell me if the two dates of October 4 B.C. and 26 A.D. are revelant to your thinking. Would like to have a conversation with someone of like mind.

One more thing, do you see May 13 2019 the day Israel completes 70 years as a nation revelant to end time prophesy, if so, why?
