The word Revelation: It's the act of disclosing or discovering to others what was before unknow to them. It's the sacred truths God has communicated to believers for their instruction and direction.

Paul writes in Ephesians 3:3, "How that by revelation he (God) made known unto me (Paul) the mystery (the hidden truths) --- whereby, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ which in other ages was not make known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the (Holy) Spirit."

John writes in Revelation 1:1, "The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God (the Father) gave unto him, ---."

The Father in heaven gave to his beloved Son the following Revelation to give to John who would then reveal it to all who believe.

Revelation 1:8, One of the great mysteries of Jesus is about to be revealed by John. John writes, "I (Jesus) am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, ---- which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty."

This title "Almighty," is a crown Jesus alone wears, it speaks only of God the Creator; for He alone is omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient. Twenty-six letters in the English alphabet describe in Scripture His majesty, His power, His grace, His glory and His wrath to come.

For the past 2000 Years our Lord Jesus has been abused, refused, and confused with every false Christ that has presented themselves as the Christ.

But, when He comes, He will "descends from heaven, with a shout, and with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God:" and every eye shall see him, "and the dead in Christ shall rise first, then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up (snatched away) together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we forever be with the Lord (Jesus Christ)."

And to those who believe not, who are children of the night, children of darkness. To these Jesus reveals,

1 Thessalonians 5:2-4, "The day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they (the fallen) shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction comes upon them, as travail (labor pains come) upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But you, brethren (the saved), are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief."

And why should we as Christians wait for His soon return? because we love him! Therefore, we cry out, "Even so, come, Lord Jesus."

We can agree and all should agree on the fact there will be a rapture.  The timing is where many of us separate our beliefs from others.
