Serious warning

I've mentioned this in the past, but please take a moment to watch this short news story about a woman who took the antibiotic Levaquin.

Please, people. Never take Fluoroquinolone antibiotics such as Levaquin (which I took) or Cipro, moxifloxacin (Avelox), norfloxacin (Noroxin), and ofloxacin (Floxin). Check for generic names, too.
Unless it's a life threatening infection, never, never use this as a first line of treatment to fight any infection.
The support group I'm in has over 10k people, and there are several others with thousands of members. Every day we get new members. Each week, we lose members.    Some are young adults, with their whole lives ahead of them. Blowing out tendons, dissolving tendons, nerve damage, psychiatric issues - it's of the devil. It only takes 1-2 pills to cause permanent damage.

Please share this with your loved ones.

This drug has several black box warning for a reason - it's damaging and deadly.

Thank you mommydi ~ what you say is right on ~ I've, years ago, worked in ER ~ watch what you put in your body ~ right now ~ I have taken a med ~ an old country med ~ for this cough I have ~ Gotron is the name (a God sent ) ~ made from Pine Tar actually ~ But I have taken penicillin ~ knowing even that should be put off until last ```

Yes, it's good what you've warned against ~ there are drugs, meds on the market that have gotten there by quickly as well ```

Last night, I was reading a yahoo news article about Peter Frampton going on a farewell tour because he's been diagnosed with a very rare, mysterious disease that causes degenerative muscle wasting. As usual, I read some of the reader comments under the article. Someone said they wondered if he had Lyme disease. Then I posted if he's ever taken a fluoroquinolone in the past, that can cause permanent tendon damage, muscle wasting, and nerve damage - then I listed some of the brand names and generic names for fluoroquinolone antibiotics. I just checked, and that yahoo news article is still there, but my comment has been removed. 
I have a graphic t-shirt I wear sometimes that lists the side effects of fluoroquinolone. Someone once asked me if I'm afraid I could be sued by the makers of Levaquin for my outspoken opposition to their drug. My answer is - I hope they DO try to sue me and the thousands of others who have been on the receiving end of their mitochondria destroying poison. I'd LOVE to sit in court and tell everyone what happened to me and others! This drug is still being prescribed for minor infections by doctors who know dang well of the permanent damage it causes.

BTW, they've now been required to add aortic aneurysm rupture and dissection to the black box list of side effects for fluoroquinolone antibiotics.

Another gentle reminder about the dangers of fluoroquinolone antibiotics. In this short news clip, two fluoroquinolone patients describe what happened to them. Also, the clip mentions Levaquin (the antibiotic from hell that I took) is no longer being made under that name but is still being manufactured under generic names. Please research any medications you and your loved ones are taking and choose wisely. Fluoroquinolone should only be given in case of life or death infections and should never be given for run of the mill infections such as upper respiratory infections (like I had), UTIs, etc.
