Is oral sex a bit like the old Baal "fertility" worship?

By accident I strayed into the ladies sub-forum (clicked the "mouse" in the wrong place) and saw the content of the first post there - then backed off hurriedly! It set me wondering if any sex act in which one person kneels before their partner (Be it hetero or homo!) in order to use their mouth on their partner's genitals, or for a man to "jerk-off" his cum on his partner's face (the subject of that ladies post - "cream pie" I think it's called) - a part of degrading Baal worship "idolizing" the genitals???   I once saw a photo of an ancient sculpture showing a small naked man with ridiculously enormous genitals (out of any sensible proportion to his size) - representing the idol Baal!  Think I read once that the wife of the actor (Banderas?) in films such as "The mask of Zorro" had a model of her hubby's "genital equipment" on their bedside cabinet - wishful thinking perhaps, or sadness that things were not as they used to be!

I think it's common knowledge what the "69" posture implies for homos - but that's not done kneeling! Don't they also sometimes "pee" on each other - calling it a "Golden Shower" as a form of "matey-ness"? I don't know if hetero oral sex is also done in a reclining position - having never tried it or wished to (am not trying to be "holier than thou!" - I have my own secret sins) - but if it is done with one partner kneeling - that's close to idolatry methinks!

Are there health reasons why the practice should be shunned in case of getting infections.  If there's an unpleasant smell from the genital area, doesn't that imply something is not right? Yet despite that "smelly warning" some may be so driven by their lustful urges, that little worries like that get ignored and they "go ahead" anyway!  For us men, if the head of the penis is not cleansed of smegma regularly - with the foreskin fully retracted if one is "uncut"  - otherwise isn't that a carcinoma risk?

Basically, IMO any sexual act which gives pleasure to one member of a couple, but is only "just endured" by the other, is not really an expression of mutual love and respect - just "using" one's partner as a "thing", like a sex toy!  Which to me at least, indicates that anything deviating from a joint "face-to-face" consensual "productive" sexual act (in the sense of possibly bringing forth a new life) - is wrong in the Lord's eyes!   But this immediately arouses questions about avoiding unplanned pregnancies and condom usage/contraception pills! Questions, Questions! Some of us kneel (a position of "subjugation") when praying - lets not "confuse" things!

::pondering::  Dave, we gotta get some parental controls on that there computer of yours.   ::smile::

I am on my knees often, for a variety of reasons mostly while working on something or other, and my uniforms exhibit evidence of this, inviting somewhat lewd comments from my peers.  rofl  I have never been confused about my purpose for kneeling, OTOH, when frustrated, praying while kneeling while working coincide.

But I digress,  perverse as it might be out there, for the most part, God and Baal, and worship  are probably not at the forefront of the minds of those engaged in the act.  That said I don't doubt that a small fraction are literally worshiping Baal, other gods, or maybe their partners.

IMO, the Bible does not have an issue with oral sex, and does not offer restrictions on how it might be accomplished, beyond the obvious; within marriage and being consensual.  I am wary of assigning meaning to the meaningless and making it an issue of righteousness.

As for your opinion on an act endured for the other, you may be correct pertaining to women enduring something for our pleasure, but I seem to recall that we as men are commanded to satisfy our wives and do their bidding in the bedroom.  just sayin'   ::smile::

Can you say things like jolly good, and tally ho old bean during the only allowed act, or would that be worshipping Baal too?

QuotePhilippians 4:8~Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
We should LIMIT our conversation thinking pure thoughts AS MUCH AS WE CAN!

What goes on behind closed doors in the bedroom between husband and wife SHOULD STAY THERE. The bed is undefiled between the two. It would be VERY HARD to connect what goes on in the bedroom between husband and wife sexually with any false worship. God's word is ALMOST totally silent of such things and we should be as well.

The "slip-up" with my mouse cursor, causing me to "arrive" where I shouldn't, is probably due to sight degradation.   Haven't quite got to the state of needing the "Windows 10" magnifier facility yet - but sadly not far off now it seems!

My trousers also used to "go at the knees" quite a bit, but now osteo-arthritic problems mean knee joints are stiff/painful if I try bending them.  The Lord knows us through and through - am sure He's more concerned with our relationship with Him than whether we assume an outward show by taking up "a position of subjugation" when we pray!

Going "off-piste" again, as is my wont!  Our little church Bible reading group  sessions have decided to "sandwich in" between studying some of the shorter books of the Bible, a time for discussing prayer.  Think that could easily broaden out widely - by the time we've discussed emotionalism in prayer (Jesus example stated in Hebrews of offering up petitions with loud cries and tears - in a solitary place!) Also, the comment made by 2 well-known Christian book joint authors stating "If my prayer doesn't move me - it certainly won't move God") i.e. mere "intellectual requests" made 'cos we think we ought to - it being the "done thing" for us Christians i.e. "passion-less" requests -  also Paul's statement of praying with understanding and without understanding as led by the "Indwelling Spirit" !  I shall look forward to that "session", to hear of others experience. OTOH, since it's a C.of.E  group, that latter matter might be squashed by the vicar leading us! We musn't get too "Charismatic" must we!

Have just remembered an important "maxim" which we need to bear in mind despite what may be for us, harrowing circumstances - "Always approach the Lord with a grateful heart!" that ties up with an OT injunction "Do not come into My Presence empty-handed."  Also the words from a familiar Carol "What can I give Him, poor as I am - Give Him my heart!"
