For months before this pandemic, GCM got multiple new user accounts per day, even though most of them never posted - just a continuous flow of new user accounts on a daily basis. This was odd in itself because that was never the case in times past. Kind of like someone was intentionally trying to grow the new user numbers.
So when the lockdown started, the daily multiple new user accounts stopped cold. Looks like during a pandemic, when people are confined to their homes, with beaucoup amounts of time on their hands, we'd get new users just by default - but no.
So the person who was evidently trying to grow the number of new accounts by large numbers has stopped during the pandemic.

Perhaps they are locked into their basement and did not pay the cable bill so no internet access?

We had 72 new members in April. in May there are 86 new members awaiting account activation.

In May, 2019 we had 61 new accounts.

As to lurkers.  Must want to carry some good info and tidbits to other forums they are on. Never could understand reading something that one can comment on and not doing so..... seems such a waste of time.

I think 90% of them are bots or spammers that have no intention of interacting on the forum.

She claims that about all 3 of us. She always refers to the 3 of us.

But I am the one having the distinction of being told yesterday, I am  too old to get with the "new religious beliefs" ..... my phrasing.

And that was  not too long after a comment or two that basically just wants me to go away.

So, perhaps it is you two that are becoming the duo of Dudley Do-right  and Nell, while I am digging myself in for the long hall as sidekick to Snidley Whiplash AKA Pita.
