Wow. Here in Abilene, we've got about a 20% chance of snow flurries tomorrow, and that'll be it for us for the whole winter. Last year we had a totol of like 8 inches. This year, not even an inch. If it does flurry tomorrow, nothing will stick thanks to the 60, 70 and even 80 degree weather we've had the past few weeks. I need to move up north.

Nevertheless

It's been snowing all day here in southern Missouri.  Kinda pretty, but I'm tired of it.  Our weather has been nutso this winter.  Last Sunday we had a high of 75, and Monday was 65, but Tues only got up to 30 and that's what it's supposed to do all the rest of the week.

I'm ready for spring!!!

Ah, Jerry, those southerners just don't know what SNOW is!!  ;)

Here in Cleveland, we are looking at mastodons and cavepeople coming over the iced-over Lake Erie and parambulating on Lakeshore expressway.

I love Da Yoop--camped around Menominee, dined at Houghton, hiked Ile Royal and saw moose and wolves; marveled at Pictured Rocks; and enjoyed St-Ignace (on the way back to the "mainland")...

Love pasties (the food; not the kind the showgirls in Vegas wear.... :p ) and love the snow there, too.

FYI:  Check out this e-link to view a quite novel way of carrying around a dead (ahem) dear    by a Yooper:

Peace.  See ya on Superior.

We had two inches in Oklahoma City today.  It was wet snow.

Jerry were in the UP are you?  The Southside youth will be doing a VBS up there this summer.

It's just too bad you couldn't get all 200 inches at the same time.  Now, that would be fun.

My Dad grew up in Houghton, JerryBrooke. I remember going up there once in the winter as a kid and digging tunnels through the snowbanks...big tunnels!! lol... Grandpa fell off the roof when he was 72 while shovelling snow off of it and broke his back.....seems like all the houses back then were built a good four feet above ground level so you could get out the doors during the winter. Makes Detroit seem like the tropics (well, not really, lol).

JerryBrooke..see you are an electrical engineering major....my Dad went to Tech for two years (hockey scholarship) back during the Depression. He eventually ended up being an engineer for Western Electric which at the time was part of the Bell Telephone conglomerate. Worked in St. Louis, Detroit and finally Chicago.
I can honestly say I never heard him say that he missed all that snow :)

Bon Voyage
